First hitting the scene for the 2020 model year, the eighth-generation C8 Corvette lineup has expanded considerably in the time since, with GM debuting the track-ready C8 Corvette Z06 for the 2023 model year, and the all-wheel-drive, hybrid-powered C8 Corvette E-Ray for the 2024 model year. Now, GM is gearing up to release a refresh for the C8 Corvette in conjunction with the 2025 model year, bringing with it several important changes and updates. Which leads us to ask – what improvements would you like to see the C8 Corvette receive?
For those readers who may be unaware, the refreshed 2025 Corvette will debut a few changes to the exterior, and further changes in the cabin. All of these changes will be applied to all three of the existing C8 variants, including the C8 Stingray, C8 Z06, and C8 E-Ray.
With regard to the exterior, the refresh will include slightly modified front and rear fascia treatments, as well as new wheel designs for all models and trim levels. Inside the cabin, there will be a redesigned screen and center stack, as well as modified HVAC controls, with the “HVAC divider” seen in the current lineup retired in favor of a new setup. This latter update should come as a welcome change, as some owners have complained that the current layout can feel a little cramped and divided.
Further updates will be applied to the waterfall interior element located behind and between the two seats, which will be revised to include a new wireless device charging system.
Naturally, we should at least mention the forthcoming debut of the new C8 Corvette ZR1, which will equip a boosted variant of the 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine cradled by the C8 Z06, labeled as the LT7. That said, we should leave the ZR1 out of this particular conversation and instead focus on possible improvements to the existing C8 lineup.
So then, dear reader – what improvements would you like to see the C8 receive? Price reduction? Availability??
A 7th Gen Camaro V8.
You said it!
And keep the manual
Less “cartoonish” looking….
Way overpriced for a lackluster design.
Possibly a base model to get production numbers up. It can be slightly decontented and obvious from 50 feet away to protect the current status quo but more Americans living the dream would be great. $49,995 anyone? I think Ford is planning this with the Bronco Work model. It will be obvious. It’s also a different customer reaching UP. Not a current customer reaching DOWN. Read that 3 times. M-A-R-K-E-T-I-N-G. I have a masters. Sales 101. I don’t care what the question is, the answer is more sales. Henry Ford with the Model T . Elon with Tesla. More is better. Mary? First idea is free. I will need an employment contract if you want the rest of them. ✌️
Rob
make it not look like a discount ferarri wanna be. C7 was the last and best design
unpopular opinion but also a factual one
Um, what? So many other better looking generations. C7 is mid pack. Zero fact in that statement.
Variable ride height, front and back!
And of course all-wheel drive!
such as what? are you old enough to start claiming any vette after 1959 is ugly? C7 is the extension of decades of the long nose snubbed rear design. if you hate the c7 you hate pretty much all of them starting with the C3. C3-C7 are essentially the same design line.
Front radiator grill screens shouldn’t be an option. Put them in all models and trims. Make front lift an available option in all trim levels.
Offer a Grand Sport and do away with constraints!
Expanded use of carbon fiber body panels to reduce weight. Better integration of aerodynamic body pieces for a less tacked-on appearance.
Better rear spoilers.
Bring back the manual transmission as an option!
Styling that doesn’t look designed to appeal to teenagers: less scoops, vents and incoherent angular details for the sake of details. This goes for the interior as much as the exterior.
And I know this ship has sailed, but pushing $90 to $100k, the Vette is sadly no longer the working man’s sports car, it’s just another toy for the wealthy.
GM seems to be run by egomaniacs and therefore are building vehicles for egomaniacs! That’s the reason nothing is affordable and there’s no intention of it being! “America’s sports car” didn’t need to outdo million dollar cars; egos needed to outdo million-dollar cars!
At last, a correction to the rear bumper. Regardless of worldwide trends, a manual trans is still desirable to some buyers and it would make the C8 standout.
The marque had offered a manual trans as standard equipment for over 60 years and it wouldn’t be all that difficult to engineer a fit.
It’s a manual now with computer aided gear changes using a dual clutch.
I’m sure that it could be manually shifted if you could find a smart ECU Guy to turn off all those transmission codes, then a mechanical guy to arrange a shifting mechanism.
Adaptive cruise control and lane assist.
I agree 100%! It should have been offered in 2020. The fact that Corvette team assumes that Corvette owners don’t use cruise control is ridiculous! And as long as you’re using it, why not enjoy the automatic slowdown, etc. for times when you’re in traffic. I have a 2022 HTC, and take it on longer trips often, and obviously use the cruise control. That feature alone would move me to replace my 2022.
No! Those features are atrociously intrusive. I had a rental Camry almost kill me when passing a wide load, because it kept jerking the wheel back to the center line.
No Nany features, particularly in a car meant to be enjoyed
Lower the roof line above the windshield! Trash GT1 seats!
Improve fuel mileage!
I would suggest adding a higher gas mileage mode to the E-Ray. For long distance cruises where you could improve the mileage to 35 mpg or so.
Kinda hard with a DTC. I still think the 10l90 would have been the better transmission choice. It has better efficiency numbers and shift times as well.
The styling is way too disjointed and not cohesive, particularly in the rear. Too many angles, creases, folds, etc. just for the sake of looks. It looks like a 10-year old designed the car to make people say “wow” but the end effect is not beautiful.
Make the car absolutely beautiful to look at, come out with a more affordable model if possible, and get rid of that wall of HVAC buttons on the interior.
Make a Bandit version similar to the Trax and Colorado.
Manual transmission, please.
Better wheel choices.
Put it back to a front engine/RWD configuration.
360 camera’s for surround view. Quiet cold start option to not wake neighbors early am. Using turn signal enables a side view camera.
When I’m 90 years old I may want an automatic. A real stick with a 6 gear is needed. No we don’t need 7. I don’t care 🤷♀️ if the twin clutch is faster!
Option : Vertical Doors (Lambo style)
Get rid of the Great Wall and offer a standard shift
Obviously, they need to make it into an SUV. 🙂
Another awesome Corvette what is there not to like ? Only one downer l can’t afford one as a family man as a second fun drive, how do you get rid of 42 year old daughter that won’t leave the nest?
If you don’t like it, then go buy something else so the availability will increase for those of us who do like it. Now your problem is solved and you don’t have to complain anymore. Now get down to your local Ford dealer or whoever makes a vehicle that tickles your fancy
I want to sell my 23 Corvette Coupe 2400 miles and is
Sweet.
Get back to basics, a little smaller and nimble.
Get rid of the huge center console, bring back the stick shift.
Make it affordable, less tech and less space age.
Do away with the Dealers that are charging OVER STICKER !!!!
I would like to see an updated rear bumper. I would like a revised rear bumper to have the more classic 4 circle tail lights but an updated look. The rest of the car looks really good it’s just the rear bumper that needs help.
Will the 2025 Corvette interior refresh have a dedicated sunglass holder?
Every driver has above average sunglasses and needs a place to put them without being sat on or damaged. Not just the glove box or storage console but a convenient dedicated space just for safe sunglass storage.
Most older generation are able to afford the new vets but can’t get in the dam thing. I took delivery of the new body style and had to have my son drive it home because I tried for30 min. and could not get in. Sold it with no miles in it.
