The Durant Guild, General Motors’ new premium vehicle import platform in China, has just presented an expanded vehicle portfolio in the Asian country – as GM Authority announced a couple of weeks ago.
The automaker’s new business arm for the Chinese market unveiled a curated collection of iconic American-made vehicles at the 2023 China International Import Expo (CIIE), celebrating GM’s sixth consecutive year participating in the market-focused event of imported cars, and the second in which it participates with The Durant Guild platform. The CIIE is open in Shanghai from November 5th to 10th.
“We are excited about the new milestone to be achieved by The Durant Guild as a business born out of CIIE,” said GM Executive Vice President and President of GM China, Julian Blissett. “It shows GM’s continuous effort to explore new business opportunities with an unwavering commitment to bringing the best products, technologies and services to China,” he added.
As we mentioned in our previous report, the main novelties of The Durant Guild at the 2023 CIIE are the Chinese premiere of the high-performance Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray hybrid sports car and the exclusive debut of the all-new Chevy Silverado EV. The Corvette E-Ray and Silverado EV expand the range of electrification solutions for GM’s premium import business, which had already introduced the GMC Hummer EV and the Cadillac Celestiq.
Additionally, The Durant Guild announced that it will officially introduce the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon Denali in China next year after receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback in recent years at the CIIE, spearheading GM’s efforts to turn its debuts into sales. To this end, the platform plans to open its own showrooms and direct-to-customer delivery centers in the country’s main cities by the end of next year.
“The Durant Guild is set to deliver highly diversified premium products and exclusive services to aspiring Chinese vehicle buyers,” said Leon Li, President of The Durant Guild and Vice President of GM Premium Import. “We’re getting ready on all fronts to go to market to satisfy the increasing customer desire for high-quality and personalized lifestyles,” he finished.
