As GM Authority recently anticipated, General Motors has just officially debuted the all-new Chevy Silverado EV in China.
The automaker presented the all-new Chevy Silverado EV during the 2023 China International Import Expo (CIIE), the most important exhibition of imported vehicles in the Asian country that took place from November 5th to the 10th in the city of Shanghai. The Silverado EV debuts locally under the umbrella of The Durant Guild, the company’s new premium import platform to supply the Chinese market with American halo products.
This is the first time that the all-new Chevy Silverado EV is officially presented in a country outside of North America, since until now, Chevrolet’s first all-electric pickup truck had only debuted in the United States and Canada. With this, GM begins to explore the level of acceptance of the Silverado EV among users in the Chinese market and the marketing potential of the zero-emission truck internationally.
In particular, the all-new Chevy Silverado EV made its debut at the 2023 CIIE in China with a blue-colored unit corresponding to the range-topping RST trim level and exactly the same configuration presented at various auto shows since the end of last year. This version is slightly different from the initial RST First Edition model that made its global debut at the 2022 CES, with a larger lower grille and more gloss black front elements.
The company says the Chevy Silverado EV reinvents the capability, performance and versatility of the iconic nameplate, building on GM’s revolutionary Ultium architecture as a clean slate that kicks off the all-electric future. In fact, the Silverado EV uses the same highly modular BT1 platform debuted by the GMC Hummer EV and challenges the perception of a truck by forging a new zero-emissions path.
The all-new Chevy Silverado EV debuted at the most important imported vehicle exhibition event in China, where it will be displayed throughout the week to gauge the reaction of the target audience and at the same time explore whether a business case is established in that country. If realized, the Silverado EV would be one of the halo electric vehicles marketed exclusively by The Durant Guild platform in the Chinese market.

Had my dealer call me and tell me my $100 reservation for one of these POS has been pushed back to 2025. Looking fwd to buying and flipping it
You consider that truck to a POS but you placed in a Reservation for one????
He thinks it’s 2021 and he can resell for a profit. Good luck.
Hopefully he’ll be charged $50k if he sales it within a year or less from the purchase date just like Tesla told it’s customers in relation to the Cybertruck.
Try to flood China with EVs like they’ve done here and see how well it works out. I bet they don’t have enough people that make enough money to buy enough of these vehicles let alone have the infrastructure for charging them! Tomg
WHATS THE PROBLEM WITH LEAVING A COMMENT?? I LEFT THE FIRST COMMENT AN YOU PEOPLE DIDN’T POST IT, AFRAID OF THE TRUTH OR YOU JUST DON’T WANT THE TRUTH POSTED!!!???
Looks like a extended SABARU BRAT from wayback.
Lets see if this sized bed is acceptable to the Chinese whose elite buyers would never use their prized trucks for work.
Good sell that POS in China,I won’t buy a EV vehicle, how does all the missles and bombs exploding in Ukraine and Israel affect Global warming. No one talks about that.Automobiles are the smallest contributor to Climate Change
Don’t know why China gets all this stuff before we do?
They’ll probably only have to pay 1/2 of what we’d have to as well?!
Doesn’t make any sense.
That vehicle was shown first in Detroit.
That’s certainly a lot better looking than that plain white basic work looking truck that i have seen posted before. That blue black combo looks sharp. Hope the US version will look like this.
