First breaking cover for the 2020 model year, the Cadillac XT6 tops Caddy’s ICE-powered crossover lineup, slotting in above the Cadillac XT5 and below the Cadillac Escalade SUV. At present, the Cadillac XT6 offers a selection of interesting interior colorways for customers to choose from. However, we think there’s one interior color scheme that’s still missing.
To be more specific, we think the Cadillac XT6 should offer a proper brown interior colorway. While the current XT6 does offer Maple Sugar with Jet Black accents, we think this color simply isn’t dark enough, nor is it brown enough. Instead, we’d prefer to see something like Sedona Sauvage offered, or possibly Kona Brown Sauvage.
For those readers who may be unaware, Sedona Sauvage is available for the Cadillac XT4, Cadillac XT5, and Cadillac CT5, while Kona Brown Sauvage is available for the Cadillac XT5. The question then becomes this – why not offer these rich interior colorways for the Cadillac XT6, as well?
In the Cadillac XT4, Sedona/Jet Black is matched with Linear Galaxy high-gloss genuine wood trim, while in the Cadillac XT5, Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents is matched with Satin Rosewood wood trim. In the Cadillac XT5, Kona Brown Sauvage with Jet Black accents is matched with Bronze Carbon Fiber trim, while in the Cadillac CT5, Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black accents is matched with Twenty-Two Carbon Fiber trim.
When it comes to luxury vehicles, offering a rich, dark brown upholstery color makes a lot of sense, as it can provide passengers with a sense of comfort, almost like they’re sitting in their favorite chair at home. While the Maple Sugar with Jet Black accents interior colorway currently offered in the Cadillac XT6 is a good step in this direction, we think that the darker, richer tones of Sedona Sauvage or Kona Brown Sauvage are more in line with that at-home feeling.
With all that said, we want to know, dear reader – do you agree that the Cadillac XT6 should offer Sedona Sauvage or Kona Brown seats?
