Rivian is now offering fleet customers an opportunity to order the company’s all-electric delivery van, with a launch expected by next year. The Rivian delivery van was previously exclusive to the Amazon delivery fleet, first rolling out in 2022. Now, additional fleet customers will have access, with multiple configurations on offer.
The new Rivian delivery van is currently available in two configurations – Delivery 500, and the larger Delivery 700.
The Rivian Delivery 500 offers an estimated range of 161 miles, with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 9,350 pounds and a payload rating 2,734 pounds. Power is sent to the pavement exclusively through the front wheels. Overall length is measured at 248.5 inches, overall height is 114.7 inches, overall width is 96.4 inches (including mirrors), and cargo volume is 487 cubic feet. Rivian says the Delivery 500 was designed for “city streets and tight corners.”
Meanwhile, the Delivery 700 provides additional cargo room and capacity, with a GVWR of 9,500 pounds and a payload of 2,513 pounds. Estimated range is set at 153 miles, 8 miles less than the Delivery 500, while power is once again routed exclusively through the front wheels. Overall length is 278 inches, overall height is 114.8 inches, overall width is 103.5 inches (including mirrors), and cargo volume is 652 cubic feet.
Further highlights include LED lighting, large rear halo taillights, an automated bulkhead door, a curbside sliding door, high-visibility grab handles, DC quick-charge capability, advanced driver safety features, and 360-degree cameras. Digital readouts are used in the cabin, and there are two wireless charging pads as well.
Pricing starts at $83,000 for the Rivian Delivery 500, and $87,000 for the Delivery 700.
The all-electric Rivian Delivery van rivals the BrightDrop Zevo, which is available in the Zevo 400 and Zevo 600 configurations, with GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors on hand for motivation.
