GM has issued a customer satisfaction program to reimburse certain buyers of the 2024 Chevy Camaro who were incorrectly charged for the Red-painted brake calipers (RPO code J6F) feature.
The General is offering the reimbursement because some Chevy Camaro units ordered were delivered with standard Black-painted calipers, but owners were incorrectly invoiced for the Red-painted option.
The Red-painted brake calipers are normally a $395 option available on all trim levels of the 2024 Chevy Camaro. When selected for 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, and LT1, the red-painted calipers are included on the front brakes only. For the higher trim levels including 1SS, 2SS and ZL1, the red-painted calipers are included front and rear.
Although the Red-painted calipers are priced at $395, the new GM customer satisfaction program says that dealerships will issue a $399 check for reimbursement to owners of affected Camaro units.
GM instructs dealers to use multiple methods of verification before issuing the reimbursement check. They are to view the affected 2024 Chevy Camaro unit’s Investigate Vehicle History screen, accessible through the GM Global Warranty Management system, to ensure the vehicle is marked “Open,” indicating it is involved in the program.
Owners of affected 2024 Chevy Camaro units who have questions about the process can call Chevrolet customer service at the toll-free number below, referencing the customer satisfaction program number as needed:

I don’t like the burnt mustard color on that Camaro!
“Unit’s”? Really?
Take the red calipers instead.
