The 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 is included in a customer satisfaction program from GM that details a fix currently available for certain trucks whose Electronic Parking Brake may not release automatically because of a configuration fault.
In affected Chevy Silverado pickups, the vehicle will also display the “Service 4WD” message when the Electronic Parking Brake fails to auto release.
Confirmation of the involvement of an individual 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 in the customer satisfaction program can be carried out using the GM Global Warranty Management system. The truck will be indicated as “Open” on the Investigate Vehicle History screen if affected, meaning dealership service personnel can move ahead with applying the fix.
Reprogramming the Transfer Case Control Module with a correct calibration supplied by GM will complete the necessary remedy. The Electronic Parking Brake should then function as normal and service messages no longer display.
Roughly thirty minutes of labor is required to apply the actual fix to affected 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 trucks. The repair is available free of charge during the period of the customer satisfaction program, which continues through November 30th, 2025. No parts are needed for the fix and no physical components need to be replaced.
Affected 2023 Chevy Silverado owners who have additional questions or want more information can reach out to Chevrolet customer service via the phone line listed below, referring to the customer satisfaction program number if necessary:

As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 is motivated by a wide range of available powerplants. These engine choices include the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, atmospheric 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, atmospheric 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax.
The L3B is paired with the GM eight-speed automatic transmission, while the L84, the L87 and the LZ0 use the GM 10-speed automatic transmission for cog swaps.
The Chevy Silverado uses the GM T1 platform for structure, while production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Silao plant in Mexico, and the GM Oshawa plant in Canada.

More over-engineering.
What was wrong with the mechanical parking brake, which worked great since at least 1900?
Niether my 94 or my 02 Silverado mechanical parking brake would hold the truck to pass inspection till I got under the truck and reajusted it. And the 02 still barely held it only at idle. It you barely touch the gas it rolled easily.
I was a Texas state vehicle inpecter for 6 months back in the 90s and I had lots of difference brands of vehicle that their parking brake wouldn’t pass inspection. I really like my 22 silverado dually’s electric bake it sends the brake calibers out to grab the rotor and the truck won’t budge an inch even if you give it gas.
Bunch of cry babies on here!!!!!!
you could be the biggest one.
Glad I bought a 2022 3500 model instead of waiting for the 2023.
Today’s manufacturer’s are like sheep. When one of them comes out with a new design or method of doing something, the others all follow like sheep. Chevy supposedly re-designed the 2024 Silverado to counter the Ram interior. My 2024 RST has what I call major design blunders, which defies common logic, case in point, GM decides to move the wiper controls to the left side of the steering column, intergatred with the turn signal stalk. They decided to change the button for washer spray after years of thumb operated push:turn version . Selecting the intermittent and low/hi speeds go wipers is awkward and not ergonomically correct. The drivers left wrist is Bent at a 90’ angle behind the steering wheel. The right side of the steering column now has nothing! This is where the wiper controls dhoul have been located! Virtually every other car maker has this.
Then we have the headlamp dial, located down low to the right of the drive mode selector button. It is obscured by the steering wheel, and the driver has to look out to the left and down to see the dial! On my previous 2017 Silverado at least it wad located higher up on the left where yo could see it! On the 202; it could have been put just to the left of the air vent. Next we have the radio button as a small diameter dial instead of a nice larger dial. Also the fan motor speed button is now TWO separate buttons, a +/- instead of a single larger dial for ease of operation. And now for the ultimate gaff, no night light for the sun visor mirror for driver or passengers side! This on an $83k truck!
I would love to speak to whomeveg wad on charge of thdd Ed interior re-design. Clearly GM missed the boat on the above……the an only bright note in the whole experience was the factory build and delivery of the truck in ONE WEEK from the Fort Wayne, IN Plant to Canada!…..just saying!
The windshield wiper control has been on the turn signal bar for decades. Unless they changed it for 23. My 94 , 02, and now my 22 all have it on the same place on the windshield wiper arm. But your right they change up how it works and I don’t like it, because after it being the same even as far back as my 71 vega, it just means I have to reprogram my brain to figure it out so I don’t have to take my eyes off the road to use it.
But I’m glad I bought a 22 dually instead of a 23, or 24.
