Does The Caravaggio Corvette Unica Series 1 Look Better Than The Stock C8?

Caravaggio Corvette is launching the new Unica Series 1, a fully bespoke upgrade for the C8 Stingray and C8 Z06 that opens up a wealth of customization options. Taking inspiration from custom European coach builders, each unit of the limited-run Caravaggio Corvette Unica Series 1 will be tailored to client’s individual tastes. The first few units have now been produced. The question is – does the Unica Series 1 look better than the stock C8?

Two examples of the Caravaggio Corvette Unica Series 1, a re-bodied C8 Corvette.

Based out of Ontario, Canada, Caravaggio Corvette has offered custom upgrades for the famed Chevy sports car since the mid-‘80s, with the Unica Series 1 offered as the company’s latest custom treatment. Each Unica Series 1 customer will be provided an opportunity to work one-on-one with Caravaggio to create their fully bespoke vehicle, and will have an “unlimited amount of interior and exterior options” at their disposal, including fabrics, leather, carbon materials, colors, finishes, and more.

Caravaggio is offering up a range of performance upgrades as well, including a supercharger package, new Brembo brakes, new wheels, and engine tuning. Each unit will bear a unique badge declaring its place in the Unica Series 1 line, with production limited to 30 units total. Pricing is set at $135,000, which does not include the base C8 Stingray or C8 Z06.

Naturally, the Caravaggio Corvette Unica Series 1 also includes a custom exterior treatment, which changes the overall vehicle styling. Five units will also feature exposed carbon fiber body panels, and according to Caravaggio, the carbon body reduces vehicle weight by roughly 40 pounds.

    1. You know, the more I look at it, I like it better than the C 8. Never likes the Batwing around the door.

  4. Much better looking than stock. The styling of the stock C8 tries too hard to look like a fighter jet. It’s styling is too busy and overly angular, -it will not age well. The Caravaggio’s styling is simple and elegant and reminiscent of a Ferrari 360. Round tail lights would have been even better. But not worth $135k, -maybe $50k.

  5. So this package is $135k which is more expensive than a new Z06? Why would anyone pay more for upgrades than the car is worth. Take $100k off that price and maybe it’s worth it.

  6. Yes-looks much better than the original. Always
thought it too busy. In particular the factory ‘frunk’ hood has far too many lines going on. Also never
liked the engine intakes aft of the doors with the goofy
black ‘eyebrows.’ In the Z06 they compound the issue by being even bigger. All in all, a smoother more
coherent take on a already decent design.

    1. I mostly agree with you. I think the hood looks cool with the zig zag opening, but I agree the black eyebrows don’t cut it. Too many little black bits and pieces all over the car. They break up the flowing lines of the entire car. Besides the eyebrows there’s the mirrors, the bar in front of the grill, the vents in the back and of course the obligatory obnoxious wings they put on the back and sometimes black roof panels. Not to mention the convertibles that have black engine vents and optional black roof and nacelles. I ordered mine with the body color option that eliminated all the black bits and this cost an extra 6 or 800! If I wanted all that black on my car, I would just order a black one. Now they charge extra for black badges and exhaust tips. I don’t get this fascination with all the black parts. Just order a black one if you want to be incognito. I did notice that the new eRay models are all shown with the body color option as standard, which I think is a good thing.

In the end, I like this Caravaggio version. I think it looks cleaner, but mostly because they got rid of the black bits on the sides. They should have worked more on the rear in my opinion. I don’ think it’s bad as is and looks better with body color vents but it’s still a bit busy.

Oh and $135k is way out of line for a pair of rear fenders

  7. I saw Caravaggio’s work at Carlisle where he has attended numerous times over the years . His design and the quality shown is nothing short of awesome . He has long been known for gorgeous interior work , even years ago on C5’s so glad to see he’s still going strong . His work is extraordinary ! 😀👍👍

  8. Stock looks like sht and every one knows it. Come on, Doctor Caravaggio with their plastic surgery skills, made it a beautiful car. Stock, it is not. I think it’s hideous AF. Have you ever heard the phrase: “Ya have to tie a pork chop around her neck so, the dog plays with her”? The vette’s pork chop is it’s performance abilities. The last beautiful vette was the c2 and everybody knows that too. But, 200-250k for a still a vette? Mmmmayyyybe with Z06 powertrain. A Ferrari F8 and McLaren 750S both start at 330k. Not breaking my piggy bank just yet. Ionno about ya’ll but for a GM product (still)? Typing this out? Hard pass. Looks great tho! Lastly, this now pretty vette is the quintessential example of a female with a sht load of plastic surgery and make up. I aint wrong…

  9. I don’t like the looks of their mods so I would never consider this even if I could afford it.
