Last week, a Chevy Silverado owner in New Jersey caught a wild moment on camera when a deer leaped over a parked Pontiac Vibe and landed on their pickup, damaging the truck’s bed. Video of the incident was posted online, showing how the incident played out and demonstrating in dramatic fashion just how far deer can leap. As an added twist, the Chevy Silverado was damaged mere moments before it was set to be sold.
According to the video description, the incident occurred on Friday, November 3rd, in Mays Landing, New Jersey, with the video indicating a local time of 5:42 p.m.
As the video gets under way, we see a driveway and a yard, with a blanket of leaves covering nearby grass. The sun is setting and light is dimming. We see someone bouncing a basketball while a cat runs around nearby. In the driveway, we see a silver Pontiac Vibe and a white Chevy Silverado pickup, between which is a Honda crossover. In the background, we see a white Chevy Tahoe pulling up.
As the individual dribbles the ball and the white Chevy Tahoe parks, the cat is seen running towards the Pontiac Vibe, obviously captivated by something off-screen. Suddenly, a deer bursts into frame, running between the trees before launching off the grass. The deer is seen sailing over the Pontiac Vibe, clearing the Honda crossover as well. However, as the deer comes in for a landing, it’s set on a collision course with the bed of the Chevy Silverado.
The deer makes a solid impact, scrambling over the bed before making an escape. A large dent is seen in the side of truck.
According to the post, the individual pulling up in the Tahoe is there to buy the Silverado.
“Funny story… I list my 2007 Chevy Silverado on FB marketplace and a guy calls from north Jersey and wants the truck 1,000 percent as long as the body is as nice as it looks in the pictures,” the post reads. “I assure him that it’s mint and he says he’s driving down with the cash. Here’s a video of him pulling up in the white Tahoe out front…”

Oh Deer !!
Amazing how deer can impact immovable objects and still run off, Was the sale made ?
Yes, I think it was listed for ~9k but sold for ~7.5k. I don’t know the exact numbers but it was something like that.
that’ll buff right out !!
Deer population in NJ has become ridiculous over last couple decades. They are like mile markers on rodes. They are in towns where not long ago you never saw any. They eat just about anything in your garden. Seen eight point buck in backyard.
THAT has got to hurt!
