The GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky is the only facility in the world to produce the Chevy Corvette sports car, a designation which the plant has held since 1981. As such, the facility offers tours for those fans keen to get a behind-the-scenes look at brand-new examples of the Vette as they are assembled. Now, however, it appears as though the Corvette plant tours will be suspended.
According to an update at the National Corvette Museum (NCM) website, tours of the GM Bowling Green plant will be suspended beginning Monday, February 5th, 2024. The NCM update indicates that the tour suspension is “due to manufacturing advancements,” but does not provide any details. The NCM says that it will continue regular operations, but does not say when tours of the Bowling Green facility may resume.
The National Corvette Museum is located just down the road from the Bowling Green assembly plant, and offers tours of the plant in conjunction with access to the museum. It’s estimated that 50,000 tourists from around the world visit the Bowling Green plant annually. Customers can also select the Museum Delivery option when purchasing their new Vette, which includes an opportunity to watch their new sports car as it is assembled at the plant before taking delivery at the NCM.
The NCM previously announced that it would resume public plant tours late in 2022 after tours were initially suspended in 2017 as a result of plant renovations.
The Bowling Green facility currently produces the C8 Stingray and C8 Z06, while the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine (equipped by the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and Cadillac Escalade-V) is produced at the Bowling Green plant’s Performance Build Center.

Sounds like ZR-1 pre-production training and test builds will be underway.
The only source of embarrassment are these comments made behind a screen. Less judgement and more kindness go a long way.
What in my comment warranted deleting it? I didn’t break any rules. What’s the point of allowing comments if you’re just going on censor them based on arbitrary opinion? If that’s the kinda thing you’re gonna do here, why even allow comments at all?
in today’s world, to many people get butt hurt way to easily. Thin skin is in.
So if I can’t say the employees at Bowling Green all look like slobs, can I say they look unkempt? Disheveled? Unprofessional? Homeless? Like they work at a dirty, poorly lit Skynard concert? Or were the mods mad that I criticized the woman wearing rings while handling painted parts? Was it because I assumed her pronouns and called her a woman? Or was it because I commented on her “size”?
Heck, I just wanna know what I said that got the comment deleted. At least give me a hint!
Preparing for the much delayed E-Ray? Maybe these can be built with some respectable level of quality after the terrible dct issues and the mysterious rerouting of hundreds of C8’s to MI.
Maybe they’ve been forced into an Epelectrik downgrade by Joe.
