Chevy Malibu Driver Runs From Police By Driving 120 MPH In Wrong Lane: Video

Law enforcement in Arkansas don’t mess around when it comes to apprehending suspects who attempt to flee a traffic stop. In fact, we’ve seen more than one instance of Arkansas police performing a PIT to stop a vehicle during a high-speed chase. Now, the driver in this Chevy Malibu is getting a taste of exactly that in the following video.

Recently posted online, this video was captured on November 17th, 2023 by the dash cam of Arkansas State Police Topper Robert Roam. The video opens with the police cruiser pulling up to a gas station, where the trooper quickly stops behind a Chevy Malibu. As the police officer flips on their lights, the driver in the Chevy Malibu quickly shifts into Drive and takes off.

Trooper Roam pursues the suspect, and before long, the two are traveling at a high rate of speed down a four-lane road, weaving in and out of traffic. After taking a quick right turn, it looks like the Chevy Malibu tries to brake-check the cruiser briefly before getting on the throttle and crossing the yellow dividing line.

The two continue to weave through traffic, with the Malibu driver repeatedly traveling down the wrong lane. Around the one-minute, 53-second mark, it looks like Trooper Roam is setting up a PIT maneuver, but the Chevy Malibu driver weaves back and forth, and eventually, the police officer starts to fall back as they once again drive through traffic.

Speeds continue to increase, and around the two-minute, 40-second mark, we see the Malibu fly around a corner before pushing into the adjacent lane. The two lanes directly in front of the Malibu are blocked by other vehicles, so the driver in the Malibu slams on the brakes and makes a quick turn onto an adjacent street.

Trooper Roam follows suit, and seizes the opportunity to spin the Chevy Malibu and end the chase.
