About Chevrolet Malibu

The 2023 Chevy Malibu ushered in a variety of important changes and updates compared to the 2022 Chevy Malibu. The biggest news is that the midsize sedan no longer offered the Premier trim level nor the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG gasoline engine that powered it, along with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.

The 2024 Chevy Malibu will be offered as the ninth model year for the ninth-generation nameplate with just a handful of changes and updates over the 2023 model year. Pricing uncovered for the 2024 Malibu shows the base LS being the sole trim level to get a bump, and only $100 at that. Check out all the 2024 Malibu pricing with options.

According to J.D. Power, the Chevy Malibu has top-quality seats, currently the best in its segment.

  1. $500 what a joke.
That goes to show that the extreme rise in the cost of these vehicles is GM squeezing customers and not the union workers who manufacture the vehicles.

  2. Malibu’s unfortunately only available with continuously variable transmissions which are used for lower displacement, lower horsepower applications. I understand other manufacturers offer these, but just not a fan of these transmissions. Also prone to overheating and transmission fluid consumption. Best for consumers who view their automobiles as appliances – like a refrigerator.

  3. Hi, any word on a 2025 Malibu? Here is text from a GM/UAW story today.

GM is considering whether to build a lower-cost version of the Bolt electric utility vehicle at the Fairfax plant in 2025 and the premium EVs for Cadillac and Chevy — including a pure electric performance model with the Corvette name — in Lansing beginning in 2027, according to sources familiar with the automaker’s thinking, who asked not to be identified.

  4. I own a 2023 Malibu RS and its the biggest POS rental fleet car I have ever owned! The anemic 1.3 liter will propel the car from 0 to 60 in just over a day, and the throttle mapping is so vague you either have to floor it or wait for traffic to clear because it wants to keep you in the gas saving rpm range. The car “Bucks” like a wild mustang when you first start it up and give it light gas like when leaving a parking lot. Way to go GM, way to go…..
