Check Out The 2024 Cadillac Celestiq’s Keyfob

Set to serve as the flagship of the Cadillac lineup and offer obscene levels of customization, the Cadillac Celestiq is a vehicle unlike anything in General Motors’ current product lineup. Now, GM Authority has recently captured photos of the uber-luxurious sedan’s keyfob.

Interestingly, the keyfob of the Celestiq appears to be similar to that of any other Cadillac model, albeit it does include an extra button for the power-operated driver door, as the door opens by itself without the need to pull on the handle. This may sound odd to some, as General Motors has claimed that the Celestiq is a bespoke work of art.

Flipping the keyfob over onto its backside, we find that it has been color-matched to its vehicle. In this circumstance, the keyfob is painted in the Habanero exterior paint color.

As a reminder, the Cadillac Celestiq is positioned as the pinnacle of the Cadillac – and General Motors – lineup. To this end, the Detroit-based automaker is pulling out all the stops to make the Celestiq stand out from the crowd. With this in mind, the exterior styling is designed to represent the avant-garde, with bold themes found throughout.

Moving to the interior, hand-finished trim pieces are featured throughout the cabin. A 55-inch coast-to-coast center screen is only one of five high-definition displays found throughout the vehicle, as rear-seat passengers get their own advanced 12.6-inch-diagonal displays. Meanwhile, above the occupants’ heads sits an all-glass roof panel using Suspended Particle Device (SPD) to allow variable transmission of sunlight into the cabin.

Under the body panels, the 2024 Celestiq rides on the GM BEV3 platform. By utilizing a 111-kWh battery pack to power an advanced AWD system, total output is a GM-estimated 600 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque, which ultimately results in a 0-60 acceleration of 3.8 seconds.

Production is currently scheduled to kick off at the GM Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan in December 2023, while availability is by waitlist only. In addition, units will be built by hand, and General Motors expects that only two vehicles will be built per day.

  1. I was expecting a much more premium keyfob rather than run of a mill plastic cr@p.

  2. I don’t know about the fob…it’s different visually, that’s for sure…but my husband would love this blue. Personally, I want the brightest neon coral pink known to man, and then I want it brighter! With peach, fruit punch and carnation (pink lemonade ) plaid interior fabric with heavy duty metallic gold, copper or bronze/brass thread accent-stitching the seemed borders of the material. Extra pearlescent high gloss finish and all emplems, ornaments and other metals (door locks and door handles, rims, etc. must match the sttitching. Sounds loud and clashy, but I know that it would be amazing!! Especially on the Celestiq, Escalade-V or the newest convertible roadster!! One of each, maybe, slight variations in shade or hughe.

  3. The current gen fob is reasonably nice, especially relative to some of GM’s prior offerings. However, I would have expected something bespoke. At this price point, how could they not justify it? I understand it must cost an exorbitant amount of money to develop a new fob, but could they not have at least designed a new premium case around the existing internal components? Sure, it could be identified as having the same humble beginnings as the run of the mill fob under more careful scrutiny, but at least it would be clad in something more premium as well as aesthetically differentiated.
Hardly the first ultra premium car to do this, but you’d think no stone would be unturned at this first attempt for GM.
Perhaps it will employ Apple Car Key (and if there’s an equivalent Android product) as the primary, and the fob is relegated to backup?

  4. Why didn’t they make a nicer fob? Like what Porsche does with their car fobs. It should have some weight too it as well, like RR’s and Bentleys fobs. Maybe a fob in the shape of the Cadillac crest with buttons fitted to that shape. Similar to what Koenigsegg does with the shield

  5. Not sure why this car would even have a key fob, I would expect it to be connected to your phone like Tesla.

  6. So I’m wondering if GM want their customer to use their Smartphone app as a key to operate the CELESTIQ instead the ordinary key fob for the reason they did not spend the money or is this key fob used as a test bed as preproduction until the better designed fob becomes available with the CELESTIQ?

  7. Lmfao. Gm will stay gm forever.

My sister’s small Volvo has a better and more premium looking keyfob than this. The same goes to the c8’s keyfob. Dont forget the 300k + price.

There some cars that you dont like when you see them for the first tim ,but then they grow in your eyes. This car vice versa has became worst since then.

When i saw it for the first time i forced myself to like it because it was a fresh air for the Cadillac fans. We wanted a premium sedan and we got it.
But the emotions are gone now and thats what i can say:

The rear is awful. Its a nightmare. 5u ckin disaster. Interior is too empty. Nice materials though. That rear is a deal breaker. Its a flat lyriq.

    1. Your priorities are wrong if you care about a key fob when you have a $300k+ vehicle. There’s a good chance a person with such a car would have a driver.

  8. For 300k it needs to come with a free hooker – that design if fugly as hell. Mary Barra must have okayed it since her fashion sense is like a grandmas – hence the green light of that edsel eyesore.

  9. I like the front of this car the back end grows on you… But this would have been a perfect opportunity to add or bring back the baby Cadillac fins like what where on the 1971 sedan DeVille… Hell they could have even made the light bar on the trunk light up all led and a retro design like that would sell people want bigger cars back and this thing is heavy already so why not make a halo land yacht that Lincoln, Lexus, Tesla, BMW and Audi can’t touch I bet people would flock just look at it ! We need beautifuly designs in cars again enough with this euro trash everything has a purpose styling, that works for SUVs and crossovers but not for a halo car sedan.

  10. Seriously it’s a key fob!

    1. Thats what you put on table. When i pay 300+k i want it to be perfect. Its a small detail but very important.
My sister’s volvo has a pretty heavy keyfob that is made of leather and iron.
This is cheap plastic bs. Why others can do it and the gm cant?

      1. Iron?

        Probably not.

    2. I know right Robert D just give me my Chevy key fob it’s fine besides how often are you going to say ohhh look at my beautiful solid gold platinum plated key fob lol… I swear people with enough money to buy this thing have nothing better to worry about… I would instead worry about the interior material quality not a key fob.

  11. A C8 fob for a $300k car! Why wouldn’t you just say that, GM.

  12. Give us 400K and here is your Crapola Plastic Key Fob
Man GM just can never quite go All IN on something, the beancounters always has to get their way on something.
Pretty insane if you ask me.

  13. Same as my Blackwing which color matched to the brake calipers.

  14. You did it, Mary! You built the first $300K station wagon!

  15. IMHO…Cadillac really missed a creative opportunity here.
Embarrassingly so when you look at the lofty realm the Celestiq is supposedly meant to flourish.

This was a rare opportunity to establish a small, but seminal new level in personalized connectivity and accessibility.

Like what Apple has done with the mobile phone….or Coco Chanel was to fashion back in the 1960’s.

This was an opportunity to move beyond conventional formulaic thinking and challenge the archetypal norms.

This could have been an exceptional accessory …or piece of jewelry…relevant to the times.
Something that in-and-of-itself is an indication of something very special.
    Something “iconic”.

I wonder what Bill Mitchell would have “inspired” folks to create?

  16. My Blackwing has the same key body (different buttons) with color based on the calipers. This isn’t anything special, I expected something different. It’s not even worth mentioning to be honest.

  17. You can design/customize just about everything on this vehicle – with that said, I had to check my calendar and refresh this page because I thought it was either Aprils fools or the wrong image loaded. I would think the key fob would be the flying goddess or be the shape of the actual Celestiq. This can’t be true. Idgaf if it’s “just a key fob. This is a BESPOKE vehicle that is more than a quarter of a million of dollars. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE and if I were to commission a build and they told me they couldn’t one off me a different key fob, I’d be out. Cadillac goes out of their way to build the standard of the world vehicle but does this? GM authority I hope this is fake news. Okay I’m done.

  18. It’s funny such a big deal is being made about a key fob. I’m sure if you want you can customize it as well. This is just a generic Cadillac fob with some different buttons. For all we know this is just a placeholder and GM Authority thought they had some major scoop.

  19. A corporate fob with a color matched back panel? Come on man. Everything else is bespoke, why not make a bespoke fob?

  20. It’s a Rolls or Bentley EV competitor. How nice does the fob need to be for your chauffeur??

  21. hmm according to another leading auto publication, this is a prototype keyfob and not the production keyfob…someone needs to check before publishing things as gospel
