Burglary Suspects In Cadillac CTS Attempt To Flee Police, Crash Instead: Video

Two burglary suspects in a white Cadillac CTS recently attempted to flee from police in a residential area, but ended up smashing into a parked car instead. Video of the incident was captured by nearby cameras, showing the moment that the Caddy collided with a parked crossover.

The incident took place in the Davenport area of Polk County, located in central Florida. The Polk County Sheriff’s Department posted footage of the crash online, as well as a report.

Footage from a viral video showing a Cadillac CTS crash.

According to the report, the incident occurred early Monday morning on November 13th, 2023. Deputies responded to a reported car burglary around 3:28 a.m. in Preservation Pointe, near County Road 547. Deputies attempted a traffic stop on the suspects’ white 2006 Cadillac CTS, but the sedan failed to stop and sped into the neighborhood instead. Police opted not to pursue the suspects, as the subdivision included only one way in and one way out.

In the video, we see a police officer and an individual standing in the street in the neighborhood. The individual is then seen running for cover as the police officer draws their weapon. Moments later, the white Cadillac CTS is seen speeding down the road. The police officer runs to their vehicle.

We next see the police cruiser park next to a stationary crossover, blocking the road. The white Cadillac CTS then pops into frame traveling at a high rate of speed. The sedan turns to the right to avoid the police cruiser, slamming into the adjacent crossover in the process. The police officer exits the cruiser and runs after the white Cadillac CTS.

Deputies then extract the suspects from the sedan and handcuff them before requesting emergency medical services to treat their injuries.

Charges are still pending for one of the suspects, while the other suspect was charged with burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, felony petty theft, fleeing to elude, conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana less than 20g, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting without violence.
