Adding a fierce exhaust note and claimed performance gains, the SwitchPath Cat-back Exhaust System for the 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 and the 2024 Chevy Corvette Z06 is an upcoming aftermarket component joining the stable of performance parts made by AWE Tuning of Horsham, Pennsylvania.
While AWE usually makes aftermarket exhaust upgrades for Audi, BMW, and other German car models, this Chevy Corvette C8 Z06 cat-back is the latest in a number of parts it offers for GM vehicles.
As a “coming soon” teaser, not all the specs are currently available for the SwitchPath exhaust. This Corvette Z06 component is an X-pipe design providing maximum effectiveness with flat-plane crank engines. AWE Tuning engineered it for compatibility with the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine that motivates the 2023 and 2024 Z06 with 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
The SwitchPath exhaust offers “proven dyno gains” on AWE Tuning’s in-house MD-500-SE AWD dyno. The exact power gain potentially has not yet been published because the exhaust is still in the research and development phase. In addition to more power and sound, the SwitchPath cat-back replaces the stock Chevy Corvette Z06 exhaust tips with AWE quad slash-cut tips with a “diamond black” finish.
The AWE exhaust can also help performance slightly by reducing weight, cutting the heft of the exhaust system by 15 pounds compared to the OEM pipes. The company offers a No Check Engine Light (No CEL) guarantee following installation and notes that the component doesn’t require any learning; it can be installed and driven immediately.
While the No CEL guarantee only applies for one year and only for the original owner of the Corvette Z06, AWE tuning also offers a lifetime warranty on certain parts of the SwitchPath exhaust. Tubing, welding, and flex areas come with lifetime coverage, while valve mechanical components are covered for three years and the finish and other features for one year.
GM Authority has reported previously on AWE Tuning products for GM vehicles, including a variant of its ‘0FG’ cat-back exhaust system for the 2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2 and GMC Sierra AT4X, which both have rugged off-road demands. The company also made a Touring Edition exhaust system for the 2020 Chevy Corvette.
While the SwitchPath cat-back exhaust is not yet officially available for purchase, AWE Tuning gives us a sneak preview of its aggressively enhanced sound in the teaser video you can watch here:
