2025 Corvette ZR1 Rendered With Latest Details And Aero

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 is poised to touchdown as the new high-performance track monster of the C8 Corvette lineup, debuting a new forced induction engine, aggressive aerodynamics, and more. Although GM has yet to formally introduce the new Corvette C8 ZR1, GM Authority spy photographers have captured a prototype unit testing at the Nurburgring racetrack in Germany. Now, GM Authority is rendering the forthcoming 2025 Corvette ZR1 with all the latest info and details gleaned thus far.

While we’ve rendered the Corvette C8 ZR1 before, our original rendering did not include all of the aero elements spotted in new spy photos captured after the original rendering was published. As such, we’ve updated our rendering to include the latest details.

Among these is a large front hood air extractor vent, which is situated between the headlights and adds even more visual impact to the front end. Although the exact purpose behind the air extractor vent isn’t clear, two possibilities include enhanced cooling and / or more downforce, with the vent likely reducing front end lift and possibly providing the space needed for additional front-mounted heat exchangers.

We’ve also incorporated an additional set of side air intakes, which are located behind the primary side air intakes and sit above the rear wheels. Again, the exact purpose behind the new intakes is unclear, but additional cooling seems likely, either for side-mounted heat exchangers or maybe the brakes.

The wheels are another new addition. A prototype ZR1 was spotted on public roads this past September wearing a set of large, multi-spoke alloy wheels, a design that was spotted again on the prototype seen in October in Germany, so naturally, we had to incorporate the wheel design in our rendering as well.

Finally, we’ve updated the rear wing to reflect the design seen in the latest 2025 Corvette ZR1 spy photos. This massive rear wing will undoubtedly provide oodles of downforce at speed, and it will provide tons of visual impact in the process.

As always, we’ll be there every step of the way as GM gears up to debut the new Corvette C8 ZR1, so stay tuned. In the meantime, subscribe to GM Authority for more mid-engine Corvette news, Corvette C8 news, Chevy Corvette news, Chevy news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

  2. The ZR1 is really nice and I’m sure it will be incredibly fast, but I wish the Corvette team would bring back the Grand Sport. It was a great package in the C6 and C7 generations. I have a 2011 Grand Sport and love it. I think it’s the best combination of performance and appearance. I also think if there were a C8 Grand Sport it would be the best-selling variant.

    1. The E-Ray is the grand sport!
It carries the same lines as the Z06 but different motor as all of the other generations of grand sports and Z06’s. C6 grand sport had a widebody and a ls3- c6 Zo6 (Ls7). The C7 grand sport had a widebody and a Lt1- c7 Zo6 (Lt4). Now the C8 E-Ray has a widebody and a Lt2- c8 Zo6 (Lt6). All Grand sports have the same characteristics as the Zo6 just less Horse power, now to include the E-Ray. The only thing that makes this new E-Ray stand out from the previous generation of Grand sports is they added AWD with an electric motor!

  3. I have to agree with “Frank” about reinstating the Grand Sport model for future C8 projects, it’s not only a well respected name but a truly well concieved variant that has the “steak and the sizzle” without the excess amount of cost involved attempting to produce a Corvette that very few of us actually can use that much power and track ability daily. To me the Grand Sport looked, cost and performed just right for probably 80% of us Corvette owners. I know that it’s always a hoot to drive “The King of Bandini Mountain” (sic) around flexing your muscles and shooting high rpm rev’s at everyone, but realistically, the “base car with the Z-51option ” engine and drivetrain are amazingly streetable, throw in the “Z06” bodywork brakes and wheels and you’ve got one hell of fun Corvette without going up so high in price that many of us simply cannot afford the extra 30% to 50% added cost of a loaded Z06/Z07 C8. Anyway, maybe someday the Corvette Gang with see the light and maybe once again start to produce the very popular and highly thought of Corvette Grand Sport.

  4. Who gives a crap about these vehicles—spending millions on them while full sized vans are forgotten.
The vehicles that have function and are needed is where design money should be going.

    1. GM still produces functional full-sized Chevrolet and GMC vans, so what’s the problem? The Corvette is GM’s “halo car” which attracts many buyers to the brand who end up buying other GM products, including vans. Car enthusiasts care about Corvettes and sports cars in general. Plus, GM does make a profit on the Corvette. It would be a boring world if auto manufacturers only made boring, “functional” vehicles.

      1. My point is this:
Their Passengers vans are a nice product, but is close to 30 years since it’s had a major refresh.
A solid high roof van is seriously overdue, as the majority knows.
Now think about this—the safety features availably on trucks and and other high volume products are non-existent on passenger vans.
That is where most safety features should be availably because these vehicles move Humans!

        1. trucks and SUVs move thousands of more Humans than any van, because they sell thousands more units of them than any vans

    2. What are you talking about? GM as a whole is the sales leader in 3 row SUV’s. The next one after them is Ford/Lincoln then Toyota/ Lexus. Just those three manufactures have sold around 700k 3 row SUV’S in 2023. On top of that, every 3 row you can option in or it comes standard with heated 2nd row, lane keep, adaptive cruise, active steering, forward collision, rear cross traffic, pedestrian alert, park assist, etc. Some of them can be had with autonomous driving. What more do you want from them? That’s not even including the vans which don’t sell anywhere near as much the SUV’s. Which all vans can be optioned with similar safety equipment as well. So I’m not sure on what exactly you are demanding of manufactures.

      1. You better brush up on your Knowledge—3/4 of the safety features availably on SUV’s are NOT an option on full sized vans.
Further more–the high sales volume get all options, because it’s all about making money.
Full sized passengers vans should have all option build into them(like Ford) because they seat the most passenger regardless of high volume sales or not(It’s safety first. Remember?).

  5. Hate to be pessimistic but this is just another car that most individuals won’t be able to buy even if they have the funds. The days of going to the dealership and purchasing a car of this caliber is gone. I know the pandemic really screwed the world up and it’s going take some years to get back. In the meantime we can just salivate for the E-rays ZO6’s and ZR1. Let’s hope for better days.

  6. Apparently you give a crap about these cars Sam or you wouldn’t be reading this in the first place.
They will sell everyone that they can make. The suppliers will be the problem.
