As previously reported by GM Authority, the 2025 Cadillac Optiq was recently officially unveiled for the U.S. market, slotting beneath the Cadillac Lyriq as an all-electric subcompact luxury crossover. The Optiq was also confirmed for the Canadian market.
Unfortunately, The General didn’t reveal much information about the all-electric crossover outside of some photos and an acknowledgement that the 2025 Optiq will serve as the entry-level Cadillac electric vehicle. That being said, the Optiq will be the fourth vehicle to join the luxury marque’s global EV portfolio behind the Cadillac Lyriq, Cadillac Celestiq and Cadillac Escalade IQ.
It’s worth noting that General Motors will release additional details next year.
Of course, just because official details are mute at the moment doesn’t mean that we’re completely in the dark on the specifics of the Optiq. It’s expected that the GM BEV3 platform – the same vehicle architecture the Lyriq rides on – will underpin the all-electric crossover, while motivation will be drawn from GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium Drive motor technology. However, the exact output figures are unknown at this time.
In regard to availability so far, the 2025 Cadillac Optiq will be sold in the U.S., China, Canada and Mexico.
“Optiq will act as the entry point for Cadillac’s EV lineup in North America, slotting in below Lyriq as a luxury compact SUV,” a GM spokesperson stated. “Optiq’s spirited driving dynamics are designed to appeal to global luxury customers. Additional details, features and pricing will be unveiled next year.”
As a reminder, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Cadillac Optiq. As GM Authority covered, leaked photos from China revealed the crossover with the familiar Cadillac EV grille treatment, along with large vertical lights in the sides of the fascia and thin upper lighting elements just under the hood.
Looking forward, at least one more Caddy EV is expected, likely the still-unnamed three-row crossover.

Your friends deposited on a Lyriq 2 and half years ago? The Spring of 2021? How is that possible? It hadn’t been officially revealed yet.
