2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV Configurator Live

Following its official reveal in April 2021, the GMC Hummer EV SUV marks the second piece of the Hummer brand’s revival following the debut of the Hummer EV Pickup. While the Hummer EV Pickup has been in production since the 2022 model year, the Hummer EV SUV has arrived on the scene as a 2024 model-year vehicle. Now, prospective buyers can now configure their all-electric SUV using the official configurator tool on GMC‘s website.

There are two trim levels available to tinker with for now, namely the 2X and 3X. The former is positioned as the entry-level model and features two Ultium Drive motors – one on the front axle and another on the rear axle. Meanwhile, the latter is the current range-topper, and offers a three Ultium Drive motor setup – including one on the front axle and two on the rear axle. The base 2 trim level is still forthcoming for the 2024 model year.

Both 2X and 3X trim levels of the Hummer EV SUV feature a 20-module Ultium battery pack, and the Crabwalk driving feature. Notably, the 3X exclusively offers the Watts to Freedom (WTF) driving mode, while the Extreme Off-Road Package (RPO code Z6X) is optional on the 2X and 3X.

As far as driving range figures go, the 3X trim is rated at 298 miles on a full charge when equipped with the Extreme Off-Road Package, and at 314 miles on a full charge without the off-road package.

As a reminder, both variants of the GMC Hummer EV ride on the wide-body variant of the GM BT1 platform, while the Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV ride on the narrow-body version. Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant (previously known as the GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant) in Michigan, where Hummer EV Pickup production kicked off in November 2021, and Hummer EV SUV production commenced in January 2023.

  1. What a joke that it took this long. Mark my words that TESLA will have more Cybertrucks delivered this time next than Hummer EVs that already had a head start.

  2. I placed a “reservation” for one back when they were announced. Last week I got a refund check for the $100 deposit. These vehicles are almost pointless as they are next to impossible to buy if you’re not willing to spend 40-75k over sticker.
