As Big Red’s famously beefy EV nameplate continues production with more trim levels becoming available, the Cargo Utility Package (RPO code PCQ) is currently unavailable to order on the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV, GM Authority has learned from sources familiar with the matter.
The Cargo Utility Package is normally an LPO or dealer-installed option for the 2024 Hummer SUV.
Customers can ordinarily choose the Cargo Utility Package on any of the available 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV trim levels, including the base 2 trim, the 2X, and the range-topping 3X trim level. It is priced at an additional $895 and consists of the following elements (relevant RPO codes in parentheses):
- All-weather cargo liner, LPO (CAV)
- Cargo security shade, LPO (VRS)
- Cargo Collapsible Organizer, LPO (RWU)
- Cargo Net, LPO (W2D)
The Cargo Utility Package is the lowest priced of the four optional packages currently offered on the GMC Hummer EV SUV, alongside a lineup of standalone options previously detailed by GM Authority.
The Sky Panel Storage Set for eTrunk (RPO code SC8), which is used to safely store the Hummer EV’s sky panels in the vehicle’s front trunk, is also currently under constraint and unavailable to order. The Storage Set is also ordinarily an LPO or dealer installed option.
Following an extended period during which only the introductory Edition 1 was available, the 3X trim of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV can now be ordered by customers. The SUV 3X features four-wheel steering, CrabWalk, and the Watts to Freedom (WTF) mode as standard equipment. Base MSRP is $106,945 for the 3X trim including a destination freight charge of $2,295.
The mid-range 2X trim of the SUV went into production in August, with pricing starting at $98,845. The base 2 trim level is not yet rolling off the assembly line.
In terms of performance, three electric motors motivate the 3X, developing 830 horsepower and roughly 1,200 pound-feet of torque. Driving range is 314 miles for the standard 3X, decreasing to 298 miles for SUVs fitted with the optional Extreme Off-Road Package (RPO code Z6X). Towing capacity is 7,500 pounds.
The 2X trim is equipped with two motors producing upwards of 625 horsepower. Under the body panels, all Hummer EV variants are underpinned by the GM BT1 platform, with motivation provided by GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium Drive motor technologies.
Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant (historically called the GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant) in Michigan, where Hummer EV SUV production launched in January 2023, more than 12 months after Hummer EV Pickup production kicked off in November 2021.

When is GM’s executive team going to hire competent people who can manage their logistics and supply chain? I never saw a company so disorganized. Beadlock, Trailer, Blackout, Cargo, Carbon Fiber, Paint, etc……packages unavailable to order. Unbelievable. No wonder so many customers are disgusted and going to other brands. Wake up GM!
