General Motors unveiled the all-new 2024 Chevy Silverado EV way back in January of 2022 at the Consumer Electronics Show, revealing two trim levels – the fleet-focused WT, plus the well-equipped RST First Edition. Initial images of the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST showed a sculpted front end with several high-tech styling cues. Now, however, more-recent images of the Silverado EV RST reveal a few front-end styling changes compared to what was initially shown in 2022.
Placing an image of the original Silverado EV RST front fascia (revealed at the model’s debut) alongside an image of the revised Silverado EV RST front fascia, the styling updates become obvious. The differences are centered around the lower half of the fascia, where the new design incorporates broader air intakes and a single, black finish, as compared to the slimmer intakes and black / grey finish shown with the original design. The black grille insert design continues the hexagonal lattice shape shown previously, but now extends out further into the corners of the front bumper. The grey lower bumper trim was also removed.
Looking higher in the fascia, the rest of the design appears to be more or less identical to what was shown in 2022. That includes a broad, thin upper lighting design positioned just under the hood, a light-up Chevy Bow Tie badge, a red-and-silver RST badge, a blocked-off upper grille, and apostrophe-shaped light housings in the sides of the fascia. However, the latest images show a new alloy wheel design for the RST trim.
As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST is equipped with GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors, the combination of which yields upwards of 754 horsepower. Range per charge was recently upgraded to 450 miles. Under the skin, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV rides on the GM BT1 platform. Production will take place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan, previously known as Detroit-Hamtramck.

Original looks better
We have been seeing this new front end for over a year now on prototypes.
Yeah I’ve been yelling to GMA about this for a while LOL
Seems to me that this is the perfect time to do some serious redesign/restyling of the pickup truck. With no engine and associated equipage taking up space in the frontend, maybe they could do some more aero type styling with lower frontends. Of course they may have to give up the frunk, but since we’ve done without it since the first ever pickup, I don’t think that is a big deal?!?!
Much better, the original wasn’t terrible but it looks more “grandpa” compared to the new changes.
The design looks fairly normal to me. It even has a grille, although it’s moved lower compared to an ICE pickup.
Gen Z Silverado I guess. Maybe GMC is next. Please don’t. Even the Honda pickups have a better design than this egg shaped Silverado.
nice. its 10x uglier now. “nice”
Puffy, allergic reaction from getting stung by a bee….
Looks better with a more detailed look because of the grille work, would also have liked the direct frontal area to have a pattern on it.
Looks like it belongs in a Pixar Cars Movie…
Is it just the lower grill that’s different? Slightly less controversial looking.
I guess I’m in the minority as I like this truck, but I’m not paying 80k for anything, let alone the 100k they want for this model.
Eliminating the “skid pad” look on the front makes this look like a less off-road variant which is appropriate for the RST. Add the skid plate for the Tail Boss variant.
Pricing definitely needs to come down. Keep in mind though that the initial RST will be a fully loaded all decked out version. Hopefully once they get into normal production of all models, prices can come down substantially.
I prefer the original, but not interested either way.
Rest assured, there’s a cost reduction involved.
Its a larger grille opening. Looks like they needed more cooling.
So is the broader air intake cooling the engine…lol!
It’s to funnel air back towards the batteries. But if I can remember, there is also a small Cooling Unit that will help keep the batteries from overheating as well.
I wish GMA would list pricing or estimated pricing.
Probably, less parts to do new design. GM is all in on less manufacturer parts contents. A few pennies save vs. a better look.
The coming Ram Hybrid will out sell the Silverado EV
