2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 Officially Launches In Brazil

Two months after the start of the pickup’s reservation period in Brazil, General Motors has just officially launched the new 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 in the largest country in South America.

The automaker’s Brazilian subsidiary confirmed that it has delivered the first 700 units of the new 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 sold to customers during the pre-sale period, and that the iconic full-size truck has begun arriving at local dealerships, making its launch official in Brazil. As such, the Silverado strengthens Chevrolet’s pickup portfolio in the country, which also includes the all-new Chevy Montana and the Chevy S10.

“2023 is the year of pickup trucks, and Chevrolet is the fastest growing in the segment. The success of pre-sales of the New Silverado shows the strength of the brand and that there is an increasing demand for this type of product in the market,” said President of GM South America, Santiago Chamorro. “The pickup stands out for its class-leading combination of design, performance, sophistication and technology,” he added.

As during the pre-sale period, the new 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 was launched in Brazil with a single top-of-the-line High Country variant configured exclusively for the Brazilian market. GM Brazil affirms that the 2024 Silverado High Country arrives as the most advanced pickup in the country, with key competitive advantages such as the highest load and towing capacity in the segment, greater interior comfort and the local debut of Google built-in technology.

In particular, the 2024 Chevy Silverado High Country for Brazil has a Crew Cab Short Bed body and exclusive elements such as wheels with a new design, as well as the Chevy Silverado HD’s larger mirrors to comply with Brazilian legislation. Mechanically, the only powertrain available is the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque mated to GM 10-speed automatic transmission.

The new 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is now available for sale throughout the official Chevrolet dealer network in Brazil, the brand’s second largest market internationally after the United States. The Bow Tie brand hopes to compete on equal terms with its rivals by delivering between 100 and 200 units of the Silverado per month. The starting price remains at 519,990 reais, about $105,870 USD at the current exchange rate.

  2. What’s with the larger mirror requirement?

    1. It has to do with the side turn signals, it’s required by legislation.
But instead of having to develop a brand-new fender to accomodate one, Chevrolet instead just replaced the mirrors for the HD ones, which already have them.

      1. Sorry but those larger mirrors look hideous on a 1500 model! Hopefully it remains an option here in the USA for those who need or want them.
