GM has significantly reduced the 2024 Chevy Malibu trim level lineup in the Canadian market, cutting the number of trims to two – LS and 1LT.
The fleet-focused 1FL trim as well as the RS and 2LT trim levels have been dropped for the 2024 model year, GM Authority has learned. The following table shows the current pricing for Malibu trims and options:
2024 Malibu | 2023 Malibu | +/- 2024 vs. 2023 | |
---|---|---|---|
LS | $28,948 | $30,699 | $1,751 |
RS | $29,848 | - | - |
1LT | $31,448 | $33,899 | $2,451 |
2LT | $38,948 | - | - |
Along with the drastic reduction in available trims, the 2024 Chevy Malibu has also had the True North Edition package (RPO code PCK) eliminated. Previously available for the 1LT trim in Canada, the True North Edition package consisted of the following elements (RPO codes in parenthesis):
- Rear Park Assist (UD7)
- Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert (UKC)
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert (UFG)
- Power sunroof (C3U)
Additionally, the Driver Confidence Package (RPO code WPR), which was offered on all trim levels is no longer available since its component elements are now included as either standard features or standalone options for the 2024 Chevy Malibu. Rear Park Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are now equipped as standard, while the Side Blind Zone Alert is available as a standalone option.
More changes include body-color power-adjustable mirrors (RPO code DL6) being made standard on the LS trim. Previously, the LS was fitted with Black power-adjustable mirrors (RPO code D49). Previously, The General offered the body-color mirrors as an option on the 2023 Chevy Malibu as part of the aforementioned Driver Confidence Package.
The 2024 Chevy Malibu lost two colors from its available palette, with the Dark Ash Metallic (color code G6M) and Riverside Blue Metallic (color code GKK) paint colors dropped from the lineup. In their place, a single new color has been added, with Lakeshore Blue Metallic (color code GXP) now offered for 2024.
A tire inflator kit (RPO code KTI) is now standard while the compact spare T125/80R16 tire (ZAM), spare steel wheel (SJF) and road emergency tool kit (V33) are now optional.
Finally, the destination freight charge or DFC for the 2024 Malibu is now $2,000, a five dollar increase from the $1,995 DFC for the 2023 model.

Simplified = De-contented (…and a slight price increase.)
The big issue here in Canada is the Malibu no longer has driver memory and many of the features that the 2023 lt2 had.
So sad 😞
DOA. Unimpressive. Buy a Kia K5 GT AWD with imitation red leather seats.
Uber expensive 😫
Such an unattractive option now
Seriously?
My wife and I love that feature on our 2004 BMW
UAW junk offering less options for more money. Why pick such a uninspired sedan to represent your brand?
My wife and I are both 73 years old. She has really bad knees. Getting in and out of a car is very important to her. The Malibu is the right height for her. When she drives, in the 2004 BMW, having the pre-set driver memory seat is a major boon for her.
UAW has nothing to do with options, people really mad about the UAW…weird.
Exactly, You must eb in the US. Here in Canada the UAW doesn’t represebnt auto workers.
