The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq introduces the second year of the EV crossover nameplate’s first generation, debuting the new Tech trim level along with new technology and equipment as well as a wider selection of interior colorways and alloy wheels. The model year also adds five new exterior paint color options.
However, one of those colors, Celestial Metallic (color code GJY) is currently under constraint and unavailable to order, though GM indicates that the constraint is likely to be only temporary.
Dealers and the Cadillac brand itself are providing slightly different information on the future availability of Celestial Metallic. A number of 2024 Cadillac Lyriq buyers have said on social media that dealerships are informing them the constrained exterior paint color won’t be available again until late in calendar year 2024.
Meanwhile, a Cadillac representative provided a statement about the color’s ordering status as follows: “We have built and shipped 2024 Lyriqs with Celestial Metallic paint. The color is currently on constraint, but is still intended to be offered on 2024 model-year units.”
Celestial Metallic is a light to medium blue metallic paint color and is offered as an extra-charge option priced at $625. It is offered on all 2024 Lyriq trim levels, with the option to add a Black roof on the top equipment group of both the Luxury (1SE) and Sport (1SK) trim levels. All interior colorways can be ordered along with Celestial Metallic.
Eight colors in total are offered on the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq, with Celestial Metallic as one of the five new tints added to the palette for the new model year. The other new colors include Argent Silver Metallic (color code GXD). Radiant Red Tintcoat (color code GNT), Nimbus Metallic (color code G7X) and Emerald Lake Metallic (color code G6I).
As a reminder, pricing for the all-electric luxury crossover starts at $58,590 for the base Tech trim with RWD and ranges up to $74,590 for the range-topping Sport 3 variant with AWD, including the destination freight charge. GM Authority was first to reveal MSRP information for the vehicle’s 2024 model year.
The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq continues to use the GM BEV3 platform for structure, while GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors provide motivation. Production takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

What about the Blazer EV, Galaxy Gray Metallic? (It has the same color code: GJY), I placed my order two weeks ago with my dealer, but nothing come thru yet.
Yesterday I received a call from my Cadillac dealer. My sales rep told me that GM notified them that production of higher trim AWD cars was no longer being held up, and to confirm that I still want the car. He indicated that I should expect my car to be built in a few weeks. I’m cautiously optimistic.
