The 2020 Chevy Trax crossover was given a place on the “10 Best Used SUVs Under $20,000” list recently published by Kelley Blue Book.
KBBÂ included the Chevy Trax in the list as a compact, convenient model for city driving that still offers decent cargo capacity, noting that its list is designed to include a spectrum of utility vehicle types to meet the needs of daily drivers, off-roaders, or buyers looking for cargo space.
The list notes that the 2020 Chevy Trax generally comes in under the $20,000 price level despite being a very recent model year. For that reason, used examples therefore can be found usually having much less wear and tear than most pre-owned vehicles. The Premier trim is often available for under the specified sum and adds a number of extra features.
KBBÂ points out the model’s 48.4 cubic-foot cargo volume, while being offered in a compact, nimble package. Seating for five enables family transport while the interior is generally comfortable and includes a high driving position. Heated front seats and extra safety technology are equipped in the Premier trim level.
As a reminder, the 2020 Chevy Trax was offered in three trim levels, including the base LS, mid-level LT and range-topping Premier trims. The model year introduced only minor updates and changes from the previous year, with several changes to the exterior paint color lineup being some of the most significant.
Motivation for the 2020 Trax is supplied by a single powerplant option, the turbocharged 1.4L I4 Ecotec LUV gasoline engine that develops 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a GM six-speed automatic transmission.
The subcompact crossover uses the GM Gamma II platform for structure, a platform it shares with the first-generation Buick Encore and first-generation Chevrolet Sonic. Production took place at the GM Bupyeong factory in South Korea and the GM San Luis Potosà factory in Mexico.

There were a LOT of problems with this generation so KBB is whacko.
Lol, what exactly were the problems? The 1.4t LUV is actually a pretty bulletproof engine and easy to repair. In my humble opinion it’s literally a better all around vehicle than the new Trax.
A complete redesign of the 2024 Trax is responsible for depressed prices on the previous model.
