These 2024 Chevy Silverado HD Wheels Are No Longer Available

Back in September 2023, GM Authority reported that the refreshed 2024 Chevy Silverado HD was no longer available with a 20-inch wheel option. Now, the Bow Tie brand’s heavy-duty pickup truck is currently unavailable to be ordered with two more rollers.

In addition to the 20-inch Machined Aluminum Bolt Pattern wheels with High Gloss Black Accents, LPO (RPO code SQ9) wheel option, the 2024 Silverado HD is no longer available with two other 20-inch wheel options, including (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):

  • 20-inch Bright Chrome eight-spoke alloy wheels (S8A)
  • 20-inch Bright Chrome 12-spoke alloy wheels (Q7G)

For reference, the 20-inch Bright Chrome eight-spoke alloy wheels are typically standard on the range-topping High Country trim level, and are replaced by the new 20-inch Polished eight-spoke alloy wheels (RPO code S8B).

Meanwhile, the 20-inch Bright Chrome 12-spoke alloy wheels are usually optional on the LT trim as part of the Z71 Chrome Sport Edition package (RPO code WBL), as well as a standalone option or part of the Z71 Chrome Sport Edition package (RPO code WBL) on the LTZ. These rollers have been replaced by the new 20-inch Polished 12-spoke alloy wheels (RPO code 5K9).

As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is equipped with the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, as standard. Meanwhile, the optional 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, which has been uprated to 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque for the 2024 model year, is also on offer.

In regard to transmission options, both engines feature the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic as standard fare.

Under the skin, the Chevy Silverado HD rides on a more-capable variant of the GM T1 platform, which it shares with its corporate platform-mate, the 2024 GMC Sierra HD. Production commenced in March 2023 at the GM Flint plant in Michigan, and a few weeks later at the GM Oshawa plant in Canada.

  1. Chevy does not make an air valve extention for rear dually truck wheels. You have to take the outside tire off the truck just to put air in the tire behind it. Rediculous problem. They need to make wheels that have sprokes wide enough to get your hand through to the inside tire air valve. After market air valve extentions haven’t worked.
