General Motors has just revealed the first official preview of the refreshed Chevy Spin, announcing that the subcompact MPV manufactured in Brazil will take a significant connectivity leap by adopting OnStar.
The automaker confirmed that the new Chevy Spin will be the next Chevrolet model to adopt OnStar’s advanced technologies in Brazil, the MPV’s country of origin and the only place where the nameplate is currently manufactured. GM’s Brazilian subsidiary anticipates that the new Spin’s OnStar connectivity will also incorporate over-the-air updates to improve the system’s user experience over time.
“Remote updates opens up a world of new possibilities for the consumer,” said Director of Connected Services at GM South America, Jaime Gil. “They can have a range of options available for optimization and electronic customization of the vehicle, without the need to go to a workshop,” he added.
According to the company itself, every significant launch of a Bow Tie brand product in Brazil is always accompanied by some innovation in terms of connectivity and the next Chevy Spin will not be an exception. As GM Authority exclusively teased, the MPV will receive a major update for the next model year that will include a revised exterior design, a cabin with next-generation technologies and more safety features.
In fact, the upcoming Chevy Spin is already in the final phase of development and GM Brazil claims that it will offer the most innovative connectivity package among seven-seat vehicles on the Brazilian market. As such, the Spin is expected to make its official debut in the coming months as a 2025 model and will come standard with OnStar advanced services, becoming the first model in its class capable of receiving over-the-air updates.
“Our research shows that 94 percent of OnStar customers judge the service as excellent or very good, with half of Chevrolet consumers being directly influenced by this technology, which gains relevance in an increasingly digitalized daily life,” finished the Director of Connected Services at GM South America.

Could we see the whole vehicle?
No kidding. What’s a Spin? MPV? So it’s like a van? Or is this just one more SUV/CUV?
