The C8 Corvette Stingray is an impressive vehicle in its own right, offering a tantalizing combination of horsepower, performance and a relatively affordable price point. However, some owners may feel as though the stock exhaust system doesn’t quite cut it in the noise department. For those who find themselves in this camp, Milltek Sport has launched a new performance exhaust system for the mid-engined Vette.
Available worldwide through the company’s dealer network, this new exhaust system is designed with two aspects in mind – sound and weight savings. To this end, C8 Corvette Stingray units equipped with this system boast a heightened V8 soundtrack and save almost 40 pounds over the OEM unit.
Customers are also able to individualize their system to help than stand out from the crowd. To facilitate this, Milltek offers its exhaust system with a variety of exhaust tip finishes, which include a choice of polished stainless, Cerakote satin black, brushed titanium, burnt/blue titanium, and carbon fiber. Mandrel bent tubing is used throughout, while both Stingray Coupe and Convertible models – with or without the factory sport exhaust system – can be configured with this Milltek unit.
It’s worth noting that this cat-back exhaust system starts at $3,471 with either Cerakote satin black tips or with polished stainless steel tips.
Of course, because this Milltek unit is only available for C8 Corvette Stingray models, only the 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, rated at 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, can be configured with it. Notably, Milltek claims that this exhaust system increases the performance of the V8 LT2 engine.
Under the skin, all C8 variants, including the C8 Z06 and C8 E-Ray, ride on the GM Y2 platform. Production takes place exclusively at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.
