About the GMC Acadia

The 2023 GMC Acadia arrives with minimal changes over the 2022 GMC Acadia.

The 2019 GMC Acadia was identified by Kelley Blue Book as one of the best certified pre-owned three-row crossovers available for less than $30,000.

In January, Consumer Reports gave the 2023 GMC Acadia a “recommended” rating. Then last month, Consumer Reports named the 2023 GMC Acadia as one of the quietest midsize utility vehicles.

General Motors recently unveiled the all-new 2024 GMC Acadia, introducing a wealth of updates and changes over the preceding 2023 model year, including larger dimensions, more tech, and a new turbocharged engine. Critically, the third-generation Acadia will be available in four specific trim levels – base Elevation, mid-range Elevation Premium, off-road-oriented AT4, and range-topping Denali.

Speaking of the cabin, the interior layout was totally overhauled for the next-gen 2024 Acadia, featuring a massive 15-inch Premium GMC Infotainment System screen, equipped as standard across the range. The 15-inch center screen pairs with an 11-inch Driver Information Center, also equipped as standard on all four trim levels, while an 8-inch Head-up Display is available on Elevation Premium and AT4 trims, and standard on Denali.

First the first time ever, the next-gen 2024 Acadia will offer GM Super Cruise, the automaker’s semi-autonomous driving assist technology thanks to being equipped with GM’s new Global B electronic architecture. Critically, Super Cruise will be available on the 2024 Acadia Elevation and AT4 trim levels. The all-new Acadia arrives as the very first GMC vehicle to offer Super Cruise on Elevation and AT4 trims, and the first to offer Super Cruise on all trim levels.

Additionally, the 2024 Acadia and Sierra EV are GMC’s first models to get GM’s new electronic shift lever.

The 2024 GMC Acadia is motivated by the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine as the sole powertrain, rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. Output is directed through the GM eight-speed automatic transmission, with all-wheel drive offered as optional on Elevation, Elevation Premium, and Denali. AT4 trims are equipped with a unique Active Torque Control AWD system as standard.

The online configurator tool is live for the 2023 Acadia.

Production of the 2024 GMC Acadia will start this coming January.

  1. I’ll say that vehicles are still too high priced. Period. But things are changing. Not only have incentives begun to grow, but discounts have grown as well. A year ago, some of this was unthinkable at best. Now dealers are looking for ways to draw in those same customers that they drove away with the greed. At the dealer I work for, they are discounting almost every Volvo in a huge way. They have now started to discount the Mazda’s as well. This is a bad time for Mazda to be going all in on being the premium brand with almost nothing available now under $27 grand! As I write this, our average Mazda MSRP is hovering around $40 grand.

The only thing that may once again turn this discounting around would be the strikes and lower inventory levels.

    1. The ‘24 Acadia is gorgeous. I owned a ‘17 Denali that I loved (except for an engine problem that turned into a GM Buyback). My parents just leased a ‘23 SLE that is perfect for them. Best deal out there right now in GM lease land. I checked EVERYTHING in the small-mid suv/crossover category. Best bang for the buck and a very solid feeling vehicle.
I agree with you, Dan, that pricing is crazy, though. A few dollars shy of $40k for a base model front wheel drive 4 cyl suv is nuts. It does come with some decent standard equipment, but I feel like it’s at least $6-7k too much for what it is.

      1. Actual prices are dropping a bit. I think maybe a better strategy is to do incentives on a higher MSRP. Everyone likes a “deal”.

        1. Trust me mk, they’ve already been doing that false “deal” thing for decades.

“Sales incentives” (aka rebates, subsidized leases, etc) is a line item in the financial calculation to arrive at the MSRP. in other words any potential rebate is already figured into the MSRP price.

If a manufacturer has to offer the incentive it’s already accounted for. If they don’t, it’s more money in their pocket. Either way, they win.

      2. Prices have dropped a bit although IMO they’re still gouging customers. Paul Jacobson, gm’s CFO just said their ATP’s in the third quarter were $50,750. That’s down from nearly $54,000 a few quarters ago.

As recently reported, with auto payment defaults at a 29 year high maybe someone is getting the hint that prices are WAY TOO HIGH.
