GM To Replace 2023 Cadillac CT4, CT5 Incorrect Oil Level Indicator

Due to the enormous popularity of crossovers in the U.S. market, the Cadillac CT4 and Cadillac CT5 stand as the luxury marque’s only luxury sedan offerings. Now, GM has released a service update related to an incorrect oil level dipstick in a limited number of CT4 and CT5 units.

The service update affects select units of the 2023 Cadillac CT4 and 2023 Cadillac CT5, as some vehicles may have been built with the improper oil level indicator. As such, dealers are to insect affected units and replace the dipstick as necessary, along with adding more oil if need be. Notably, The General estimates that only eight units are involved, and that it should take certified GM technicians approximately 10 minutes to perform this service update.

General Motors assigned this service update with number N232418300.

Some Cadillac CT4 and Cadillac CT5 units will need a new oil level indicator. Shown here a rear three-quarters view of the CT5 sedan.

The Cadillac CT4 and Cadillac CT5 sedans have been the subject of several updates and fixes this year. GM recently issued a service update on the CT4 regarding a wire harness contact issue, while some CT4-V Blackwing and CT5 units rolled out of the factory with the wrong shift knobs.

The 2024 CT4 and CT5 received minor changes, mostly limited to paint color changes. The CT4-V Blackwing is also available with three limited-run packages, including the Elevation Edition, the Impact Edition and the Arrival Edition. The CT4 configurator and the CT5 configurator went live in July on Cadillac’s website.

As a reminder, the mid-cycle refresh for the Cadillac CT4 and Cadillac CT5 was originally expected to arrive for the 2024 model year. However, Cadillac debuted the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5 in September. Meanwhile, a mid-cycle refresh is still expected for the 2025 CT4.

On the exterior, the 2025 CT5 features a revised front fascia with new lightning elements, in additon to new paint colors. The cabin receives a new curved panel housing the digital driving instrument cluster and the infotainment system touchscreen, like the one found in the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4. Details on the refreshed Cadillac CT5-V and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing are expected at a later date.
