GM Goes In-Depth About The 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector Edition: Video

A recently released video from GM explores the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector Edition in detail, showing the features and design decisions made to evoke the history, feel, and aesthetic of a nameplate that for many years was the definitive Bow Tie muscle car.

For the final model year in its current form, as an eventual next-generation Camaro was announced last spring, The General has chosen to make the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector Edition available as an option across all trim levels of the 2024 model year and for both the Coupe and Convertible body styles.

Starting with the unique exterior paint offered on the 2024 Chevy Camaro, all trim levels except the ZL1 – meaning 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, 1SS, and 2SS – feature the Panther Black Metallic Tintcoat paint (color code GLK) paired with Satin Black stripes, along with Satin Black details such as mirrors. The glossy paint is formulated to sparkle brilliantly in sunlight.

The unique Panther Matte Black paint (color code GNW) is used on the range-topping ZL1 trim of the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector Edition, mirroring and reversing the texture choices on the lower trims. The overall paintwork is satin, while the details and accent parts – including the stripe, splitter, rocker, and mirrors – are gloss metallic black.

The 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector Edition features panther badges throughout, a reference to Chevrolet’s original design choice to use “some kind of vicious animal that eats mustangs” as the muscle car’s emblem, according to senior creative designer Adam Barry.

A panther appears on the steering wheel’s six-o’clock spoke, along with the number of the vehicle out of 350 in the case of the limited-edition Camaro ZL1 trim. A laser-etched panther also appears on the “R” of the three-dimensional milled aluminum CAMARO lettering attached to the floor mats, which are designed to bring the look of the vehicle’s exterior stripe into the cockpit.

GM hasn’t neglected the muscular aspect of its iconic muscle car, either. The 2024 Chevy Camaro continues to offer Track Mode as one of its driving modes, enhancing throttle response, suspension, and steering. All Collector Edition vehicles are equipped with forged wheels, while The General’s designers pared unsprung mass while boosting stiffness, enhancing handling.

The 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector Edition is built to be agile and responsive, with a short braking distance provided by 15-inch brake rotors and six-piston Brembo brakes combined with the aforementioned reduced mass. The ZL1 gets a carbon fiber aerodynamic package that pairs with the magnetic ride control of the trim for superior performance while keeping 20-inch wheels.

The new Collector Edition video gives a rundown of these and a few other details, along with multiple views of the muscle car in action:

In total, GM plans to produce 350 units of the ZL1 trim for the 2024 Chevy Camaro Collector Edition, with 300 earmarked for the U.S. and 50 destined for sales abroad. For the rest of the trim levels, GM expects to build 2,000 Collector Edition units.

Concerning the price of the Collector Edition Camaro, a base LT/RS equipped with the Collector’s Edition package will start at an MSRP of $39,440. At the other end of the scale, the range-topping Collector Edition ZL1 will carry a base sticker of $88,690.

As a reminder, production of the 2024 Chevy Camaro officially started in August 2023.

  1. Some guy is asking $135,000.00 for a ZL1 Collector’s Edition on eBay. Stickers for $96,000. That’s a lot of money.

  5. I have had SS2 special edition ordered since June. Still unsure if I will get an allocation for one. Nothing like waiting on GM to decide which dealers get them. Hate to go to a Mustang, but might have to go that direction of if I don’t get the Camaro. Had a Camaro in 1979. Sold my corvette in May so I could order Camaro

  8. While I really love the ZL1 Camaro these engineers should be fired for coming up with such a lame collectors edition basically consisting of some stickers and paint with zero additional performance over a base ZL1! No way is this package worth an additional $15K but I’m sure the dealers will be marking up as many of the 350 units as they can. While I did order a 2024 base ZL1 thru my local dealer with no ADM, I would have loved a true collectors edition with a little more factory horsepower just for some bragging rights! The last Camaro I had brand new was a 1989 IROC and zero to 60 back then I believe was around 6.3 seconds. I can’t wait to feel the overall driving differences between generations. Again, I love the car but the engineers should have really ended Camaro’s run with something more special than some Panther stickers!!! Just my opinion….

Of course it was different era but style was happening back then at GM. Once the gov became involved in car design everyting went south. Fast forward to today and Voila,,,,,,,,, Your Chevy parts come from China. How enlightening eh?

  11. Such a travesty to this truly wonderful driving and handling car. Hey, GM and Mary, you should have given it a HP/TQ bump along with a new rear gear ratio! Such a joke and waste on an anniversary car, by adding stickers and paint

  12. Good luck, to anyone who ordered a 2024 Camaro. Hopefully GM with accept order and build your car. These Chevrolet dealers across the country to the last Camaro on their lot will try to sell it way order sticker price. Base model or ZL1. If you have a Camaro already enjoy it. If the Camaro ever comes back it will be some ugly SUV EV.
