GM has started offering dealer retrofits for 2022 and 2023 Buick Envision units built without a functional Front and Rear Park Assist feature (RPO code UD5) as The General expands its customer satisfaction program to cover more models.
The affected 2022 and 2023 Buick Envision units were produced without correctly functional Front and Rear Park Assist because of the semiconductor shortage resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Certain units of the 2022 Buick Envision were built without Front and Rear Park Assist between January 24th, 2022 and the model year’s end of production. Meanwhile, all 2023 Buick Envision units were built without functional Front and Rear Park Assist regardless of the specific vehicle’s date of production.
For both Envision model years vehicles built without the correct Park Assist feature are indicated on the window sticker with the RPO code 00Z. Dealers can also confirm a specific unit’s involvement by seeing if it is marked “Open” on the Investigate Vehicle History screen of the GM Global Warranty Management system.
Once a Buick Envision unit has been confirmed as affected by the non-functional feature, the dealership can apply the remedy. The fix consists of replacing the Park Assist control module, after which the serial data gateway module must be set up, which will restore Front and Rear Park Assist function. Some additional reprogramming may be necessary.
Dealers are instructed to order only one Park Assist control module per vehicle, and to do so only once the customer has made a service appointment. The customer satisfaction program for the park assist retrofit is available from now through November 30th, 2026.
Customers were made aware of the non-functional Front and Rear Park Assist feature on their 2022 or 2023 Buick Envision at the time of purchase. Those who have additional questions or concerns about the available retrofit can contact Buick customer service at the toll-free number below, reference the Customer Satisfaction Program identifier as necessary:

This is just hope for now! You still have to wait for a letter from GM. Was so happy to read this! What a let down!
Wish they could move a little faster on the retro fit !
they put in the mod ali done. now it beeps
I had mine done on March 7 but I’m not sure the front is working. Does it come up on the screen when you’re too close to something? Does it make a noise? The rear cam is fine, was working when I got my Envision. It only took them about two hours to do it. They just told me it was done and that was it, no demo or anything.
Not for the front, retro was for back so it would beep as you get closer to an object
