Since the official launch of the all-new Chevy Aveo in Mexico in early April, Chevrolet‘s new entry-level vehicle has been steadily increasing in popularity and has just set a new monthly sales record in the Latin country.
General Motors sold a total of 5,730 units of the all-new Chevy Aveo in Mexico during the month of September – as reported exclusively by GM Authority with the GM Mexico sales report over the weekend – representing a new monthly sales record of the new-generation vehicle in the Mexican market. In fact, the new 2024 Aveo continues to conquer more Mexican customers and has been setting new sales records for two consecutive months.

In particular, the delivery record that the all-new Chevy Aveo achieved last month in Mexico represents more than double the 2,155 units sold by the previous-gen Aveo in September 2022 and exceeds the 5,649 examples sold in August of this year – the previous record for the model. This makes the Aveo the fastest-growing passenger vehicle in the Mexican market and significantly raises the model’s level of competitiveness.
Additionally, it is worth noting that the all-new Chevy Aveo ended the third quarter of 2023 with a healthy total of 15,407 new registrations – substantially more than the 5,807 units registered during the same period last year. This volume consolidates the bowtie brand’s car as the second best-selling vehicle in Mexico, and the improvement in recent months projects a stronger fight with the best-selling Nissan Versa.
After the new 2024 Chevy Aveo made its global debut in Mexico late last year, Mexican customers have shown a high level of interest in the nameplate that was the country’s best-selling model for several consecutive years in the previous decade. The all-new Aveo further captured consumers’ attention with the presentation and subsequent official launch of the four-door sedan version – which remains the preferred body style locally.
The successful commercial performance of the all-new Chevy Aveo in Mexico is the main driver of GM Mexico’s significant sales growth so far in calendar year 2023, thanks to a notable improvement in the vehicle’s quality-price ratio and a more comphensive lineup that satisfies the preferences of the majority of customers in the entry-level car segment. The new Aveo is manufactured by SAIC-GM-Wuling and arrives in Mexico imported from China.

Figured this car would be a success with its introduction in Mexico. GM can follow up in other Latin American and other GEM regions.
Made in China, screw that and everything else GM has made in China and Mexico.
Bring it back here in the USA and later for the naysayers! ♐
This one is specifically made for GEM countries. US and Canada won’t see these
Of course, GM does not want to make and sell a vehicle people want in the US; too busy forcing crap we don’t want in our faces.
Calm down Bob. Not sure why you are angry. Until about 8 months ago, GM was selling a small car in the U.S., about the size and expense as the Aveo. The Spark had an MSRP of less than $16,000 and it was a basic but decent little car. Of course not too many people bought them, especially in their base versions. Did you buy one? GM is a profit making company and it very much wants to make and sell what people want. The huge salaries of the top execs are based on doing just that. The stockholders (are you one of those?) expect no less. So if you know better what people want and will buy, I suggest you send your resume to the HR department at GM,
Oh and Bob, we don’t live in China or Russia and GM has no ability or desire to “force crap we don’t want in our faces”. How crude! Has GM ever forced you to buy something you didn’t want (in your face or anywhere else) ?
So Bob, calm down, be civil and you and those who know you will come to like you better.
I’m sure you know, Steven, there are a lot of idiots on this site.
Steven B: Your lack of understanding here is sad. First, the Spark was a great little car and it was selling very well for GM. But that’s not really the point. What is? The fact that this (Spark) was an economical and low priced car that got a lot of people into the GM brand instead of allowing those buyers to stick with or go to Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, etc. Once those customers are in the GM fold, it’s much more likely they will stay with GM, tell others about GM, and help them sell more vehicles. Some of which would be the much higher profit vehicles.
So it’s just like when restaurants have specials or deals. Why they have a dollar menu. Not because they make their money there, but because it brings people in and they buy more stuff. That’s how you sell more (cars, food, furniture or whatever). So GM killing the Spark here was stupid and they really need to bring a car like this to the USA. So calm down Steven B.
Wow Steven, Dan B just proved my point. The only info I was able to reap from his comment was that we all need to grab a knife and fork AND EAT OUR CARS.
Idiot.
