GM axed the Cadillac CT6 in the North American market at the end of the 2020 model year, but despite its departure on these shores, the Cadillac CT6 is still sold in in China. In fact, GM launched the second-generation 2024 Cadillac CT6 as a Chinese-exclusive earlier this year. Now, we’re getting a glimpse of the all-new Cadillac CT6 out in the real world thanks to he following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.
As we can see, this particular Cadillac CT6 is covered in black paint, giving the full-size sedan an understated, classy kind of style. Per the latest second-generation overhaul, the front end presents an all-new look, including new lighting bits. Compared to the previous generation, the new second-gen model features horizontally oriented upper lighting signatures placed around the hood line, as well as vertical lighting signatures placed on either side of the grille and fascia. The grille is also reshaped, as is the lower section of the front fascia.
Viewed from the side, this all-new Cadillac CT6 is seen riding on a set of of large multi-spoke alloy wheels, while a small Cadillac crest badge is placed on the front fender, finished in silver. More silver trim surrounds the windows, and there’s even subtle polished trim on the door handles. The profile shows off a fastback-esque profile, as compared to the more traditional three-box sedan profile.
Viewed from the rear, the all-new Cadillac CT6 incorporates vertically oriented taillights, with a large trim section added under the trunk line. Dual exhaust outlets are seen lower in the bumper, once again showing off a silver finish, serving as a solid complement to the black exterior paint.
Although it’s difficult to tell from these photos, the interior of the next-gen Cadillac CT6 features a large 33-inch 9K OLED display, while motivation is sourced from the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, mating to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.
Although we certainly think there’s a business case for selling the next-gen CT6 in America, don’t hold your breath, because it’s unlikely to happen.

While I prefer the size of the CT5, I think GM should at least release these in the US as a “made to order” option. That way the small number of people who still wants large sedans would still be able to get theirs and GM doesn’t take a loss by having a bunch of them sitting on lots.
I agree that Cadillac must offer the new CT6 as an ordered vehicle in the U.S. because many customers want a sedan but the CT5 is not enough and the Celestiq is too big and expensive.
Mary Barra are you listening? Didn’t think so.
I want one
Brought the 1st 2016 CT6 new and I love it.
Always admired whatever city or state that I drive it in. Only 56,000 miles. Would consider as my retirement vehicle (2024)
Personally, the CELESTIQ looks far better than the CT6. The CT6 is a stylish looking car but it does not give off that wow factor.
Celestiq does look way better then this new ct6… but this one looks super bland. Rear lights, exhaust front look like ZZZZZZzzzzz
Escala is a sexy car that Celestiq could of been. Except personaly I don’t want a STATION WAGON I want a full sized sedan baby.
2019-2020 ct6v bw looks amazing closest Escala look to date imo.
So this new ct6 looks like a ct5 with the cut out headlights… the 2019-2020 version looks so much better wtf.
New ct5v bw coming out on refresh looks like the old ct6, from the front back to full headlights instead of half lights.
Ct6 is a much better vehicle if you have a bunch of kids then the ct5, I need the room.
I have a 2017 CT6 Premium in Phantom Gray and a 2020 CT6 Premium Luxury in Shadow Metallic…both are wonderful cars and seat 4 full-sized adults in comfort on trips. The CT5 is just way too small and is not a “luxury” vehicle as it rides and drives like a Yugo. The CT4 is basically a 2-passenger vehicle as even a pre-teen isn’t comfortable in the back seat and forget about ride and drive comfort. Unfortunately, I have driven both as loaners when I have taken one the of CT6’s in for services.
The CT6’s are full-sized Cadillac luxury sedans. I get asked all of the time about these cars. I can load either one of them up for a trip and pull 25-30mpg on the highway using SuperCruise. Mary and GM need to give us back a full-sized luxury sedan as not all of us want a CUV, SUV or a mall-crawling pick-up truck. Many seniors have issues getting into the high hip vehicles. I also own a 2002 Cadillac DHS and a 2001 Corvette convertible, so I do put my money where my mouth is. I don’t want an EV and the Celestiq is one fugly pig they keep trying to put lipstick on.
Cadillac is no longer a world class leader except in Mary’s favorite country…China.
How about a fill-sized revival of of a sporty Coupe DeVille? CT5 styling lacks panache and sufficient interior space . GM needs stylists who can recall Bill Mitchell’s keen eye for classic beautiful lines. Smooth and sleek elegance, please! Cadillac has the drivetrains and handling perfected, but the cars still need a breathtaking but graceful new suit to wear in public besides the unobtainium Celestique halo car. It’s time to reset a new “standard of the world”.
Keep it there with that small underpowered engine
I’m NOT buying any car made in China!! Probably out of my price range anyway. I do love my 2017 Chevy Impala I bought as a four year old used car. And my 1977 Buick Electra has more class than most vehicles you can buy nowadays. Yes, I love most of the American cars (SUVs not so much) but not some foreign tin can with an American nameplate slapped on it. Did anyone notice, you’re not paying Chinese prices!?!
still cant get the rear looking normal on the ct6
dont like the slanted trunk top. then again, since we cant buy it dont even matter does it
gm needs to get off their ass and produce the CT6 sedan for NA and screw the excuses. Pack two tunes of the TTV6 into it and sell it.
Ab-So-Effing-Lutely!!!!
I agree….build what the drivers need not what you think they need…..look at the EV mess !!!
They need to build it here and offer at least a V6 if not V8 power! This is America after all! How about a power train similar to the eRay Corvette? GM used to offer the neatest cars on the planet. Just compare even a base model Chevy Malibu to the Malibu they manufacture now. A lawn mower motor under the hood! Honda gets 30 hp more from the same sized engine.
What’s funny to me is that GM released this car in the land of (usually) smaller stature people all while flat out denying it to the people who would benefit the most from it. Hell, lest we forget, right before GM scrapped the CT6 in N. America, there was talk about a CT8!!! My knees scream on long drives!!! And NOOOOOOOOO, a full sized SUV does Not resolve the problem. Need more inches of leg room!!!!!
I sat in a US CT6 to see if it could replace my Platinum DTS. Fully extended, the head restraint hit me in the back. I’d have to remove it entirely. I think the interior was designed in China for people under 6′.
The two previous iterations are much netter looking. I own a ’13 XTS and ’15 Impala.
I like the looks of this in the black, but I still prefer the first gen CT6 over this new one. There’s just something about a larger black Cadillac that sits well with me.
For the love of God GM, please bring this back to the US and give it a proper name, give a version to Buick with their own design and give it a proper Buick name. Oh, and please bring back the Bose Panaray for them. To this day, I still firmly believe that was the best sounding system I’ve ever heard.
Love the Panaray in my 2-CT6’s! Best system I have heard in a sedan.
Own a 2016 twin turbo, lm a big man and what cadillsc overs domestic can’t match proformance and comfort.
I’m writing to support Jeff Gurski’s comments 110%…
It would not allow me to Rate his comments, and I truly feel it needed to be supported.
The Asian, and European lines seem to continually do well, with sporty, and luxury Coupes, in all price ranges…The buyer who once purchased a Coupe De Ville, when they reached that level of income and accomplishment, years ago, have no problem spending some strong prices, for Mercedes Benz S Class coupes, along with the flagship BMW and Audi models. Not everyone wants a $100.000 SUV, for two people, and a small dog.
Thank you for listening, look forward to your comments
Fantastic….. if they will only offer it in USA…… There are a a lot of Americans who, achieving success and wanting comfort, will move into a Mercedes, BMV, Korean or Japanese LARGE sedan for their driving needs. We need to get American car manufacturers back in the business of providing quality large automobiles.
PS…. Driving large Cadillac sedans since the 1950’s
GM sucks. An American co. that sells only to China.
It must be Sunday….
Time for another pointless, re-hash, click-bait piece about the CT6.
Ever notice they usually post these on a Sunday? I guess they have meetings with the advertisers (Eastern European Pimps, etc.) on Monday and the CT6 always brings in the clicks. Too bad it never brought in the sales.
why wouldnt GM put kona sava interior in xt6 but yet offer it in a xt4 & 5 , what are these Engineers thinking or is it their hands are tied by GM executives ? GM needs to wake up !
I’d make that my 20th New Cadillac in a heartbeat !!!
This vehicle would look WOW as a 2-door convertible. Big and luxurious as only Cadillac can do. Coupe DeVille and Sedan DeVille would be welcome here.
Many people don’t understand the Chinese market. The vast majority of those buying these cars are not driving them, they are riding in the back. The same goes for luxury mini vans over there, ride in the back. Not enough power? Speed is not the same as it is here. Many “expressways” in and around cities have a speed limit of just 80 kmh, (about 50 mph). Get caught speeding there and the penalties are very stiff.
looks like the put make up on the Chevy Impala !!
Still looks like a big Malibu…..
The only problem with the Celistiq is the price AND THAT REAR ENDyhe ugliest thing one wants gag and of course the price NORTH OF $300,000.00. Supposedly to compete with RR/Bentley. Mary Barra have the junker. MARY BARRA IF U CAN LISTEN TO THOSE PAYING U R $29MILLION SALARY BRING BACK THE CT-6 WITH BIGGER ENGINES OF COURSE. WHY SHOULD A COOMUNIST COUNTRY GET THE CT-6? HOW MUCH IS PING PAYING U
So sad many want in a free country and only people that are communists can own one, very strange!
Since gm wants to abandon us market and not sell ct6 I’m done and I’m changing brands for Mercedes benz bmw and range rover
we need the C8 or a remake of the full size 1992 deville
