All-New 2024 Chevy Montana RS Launches In Colombia

Three months after the introduction of the new compact pickup in the Colombian market and the world debut of the RS variant in Brazil, General Motors has just launched the all-new 2024 Chevy Montana RS in Colombia.

The all-new 2024 Chevy Montana RS was officially launched in Colombia to expand the range of the redesigned pickup in that country, where the sporty-looking variant becomes the third Montana trim level on offer. As such, the 2024 Montana RS is the sixth vehicle to adopt the RS trim within Chevrolet’s local portfolio following the Onix RS, Blazer RS, Equinox RS, Traverse RS and Tracker RS.

“The all-new Montana RS’s introduction responds to the demand and acceptance of a public that has prioritized the combination of the comfort, connectivity and safety of an SUV, with the capacity and benefits of a pickup, now with a sporty and exclusive design,” said Product Manager of GM Colombia, Julio Lara. “With this launch, we reaffirm our commitment to offering Colombians mobility options that fit their requirements, needs and expectations,” he added.

Notably, the all-new 2024 Chevy Montana RS arrives on the Colombian market as the new range-topping variant of the first unibody compact pickup in the brand’s history, positioning itself above the LTZ and Premier versions initially launched. In addition, the new variant stands out for being the only pickup in the Chevrolet lineup that is offered in RS trim, until now reserved for the portfolio of cars and crossovers.

The main highlight of the 2024 Chevy Montana RS is is styling, adopting distinctive design elements that give it a bolder character without any alteration in its mechanical offering. This includes a mesh-pattern grille, a blacked-out overall finish and new alloy wheels. The turbocharged 1.2L I3 engine with 132 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque is unchanged from the other trim levels, mated exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The all-new 2024 Chevy Montana RS is now available for sale in the official Chevrolet dealer network in Colombia, where interested customers can purchase it in four exterior colors that include red, black, white and an exclusive shade of gray for this version. The 2024 Montana RS units are produced alongside the LTZ and Premier trims at the GM São Caetano do Sul plant in Brazil, the only facility in the world that currently manufactures the model. The 2024 Chevy Montana RS in the Colombian market is priced at 121,220,000 pesos, or about $28,800 USD at the current exchange rate.

  1. Only if there’s a 2-door version.

  2. Mary won’t sell them in USA. Sad.

    1. That’s why I think she should step down. There is really some intellectual property missing in here head…..

      1. Probably Mary won’t sell it cause she knows it will steal sales from the Colorado while competing with the Maverick and Santa Cruz

  3. Would be good in the US IF there was a 2-door version also available.

  4. Be even nicer if they put a real engine in it. Does anyone actually believe these little 1.2 liter engines are going to last 150K miles without major engine repairs?

  5. Put the 2.7 in it. Have AWD and a slightly changed dash so it doesn’t look so Chinese.
I think this is what we need to go against the other small pickups from Ford and Hyundai.
But GM will miss the mark like usual.

  6. Looks better than Maverick and Santa Cruz. Still struggle with fwd crew cab layout. Miss my GMC SONOMA. Ironic it’s called Montana even though not sold in the States.

  7. An ideal truck for the USA – especially since Ford got a jump ahead with the Maverick. This reminds me of the last body style of the Chevy S-10. Chevy built 4 door crew cab S-10s for South America, but would not make them available in the USA. Consequently, all those potential sales went to the Jap trucks that did offer crew cabs here. And now, years later, Chevy still hasn’t learned.

    1. Eldo the S10 in South America is a Colorado. they used just a shorter frame and changed the sheet metal just a slight bit for the third world countries but it is the same basic truck and similar size.

People have no idea about these south American trucks and start making claims about them fully uninformed.

GM lost nothing in not offering either of these trucks, One you have and the other is smaller than A Maverick and you could complain it was not competitive.

  8. Does anyone else see a pattern that’s been forming for years from GM…and especially since “Queen Marry Barra” has ben given the Throne? Ford and many other foriegn car companies have got their act together, and I say this because GM has been unable or unwilling to “give the people exactly what they want in every field of the automotive market”! While GM picks and chooses it’s way, in the typical conservative way that has, over the years allowed GM’s volume of vehicles built in the USA to stagnate to the point that it operates in a convoluted way, building what “they want the pubic to purchase” and then, building these products in the good old fashioned way that’s “just good enough” (like having a young family member in school and getting either all C’s and D’s but the parents are still satisfied because that child isn’t failing, but still is a good kid” and so when you lower your expectations what happens is, you fall further and further behind until you are left with the ability to build mostly just mediocre vehicles and sadly “damn proud of it”! Tsk, Tsk. If GM continues way of doing things, building just enough vehicles to squeek by on and also “just good enough” to sell enough to keep the lights on but the machinery running, they are bound to falter one time too many and this time, they may not get saved by the government and who’ll still be sending GM vehicles to the dealers for sale…yep, Shanghi Motors, the new owners of GM, you can trust me the UAW’s days are numbered here in America. Wake up GM, and try to strive for at least a “3.0 Grade Average”, build for sale here in America what you sell in some foreign countries, it isn’t Rocket Science, America would gladly accept a smaller pickup that the Colorado (uh, like the Ford Maverick for instance) but of course you’d have to not use that wheezy 3 cylinder 1.2 liter “pop corn maker” of an engine and go to a real greatly designed 4 cylinder that you’ve been making in various sizes and horsepower (tubrocharged preferable) with a good 8 or 9 speed transmission in 2 and 4 door configuration and I swear you’ll sell every one of those you make as seen in these pictures! I’d be first in line to buy one because that is exactly what I am looking for and I believe many other Americans. Ok, ’nuff said. Good Luck GM.

  9. I would buy one. I already have a couple Silverados and a canyon and a s10

  10. You had really see one before you all start saying you would buy this.

This truck was not built for here. It is under powered, it is pretty basic and lack many features most want here.

It is not that great looking as it has the old nose on it vs the new Tax nose.

It is smaller than the S10.

To bring it here would be like the Colorado and it would need a significant investment. This truck was not build for more than third world countries.

Also the 2 door would be an issue here as most buyers want 4 doors.

GM could do better here but even if they did would they make back the investment? Based on Maverick numbers it is not a sure thing if others enter the segment as they will just split it.

The New Trax will sell many times what this will sell and was the better investment.

    1. The maverick has had 81% increase in sales from 2022 Q3 to Q3 2023. Its becoming the s10 , ford Ranger of popularity of our time

  11. I wonder if 2.0l could fit in it? You just need upgrade the engine and it would sell as is . The demand of not wanting spend 40k for a mid size truck is high

  12. Maybe not, the 1.2 & 1.3 have done a great job on the Buick Encore family. The ’24 Trax family also gets this engine group. From what I’ve seen on the engine, it’s quiet, performs well, and might just be the right engine for the decade. As much as we who grew up in the 1960’s like hi-performance vehicles, well that era is over. At age 64 I’m embracing the new engines, looking to buy a ’24 Trax in the coming month. The wife an I both like the new Montana truck, maybe one of each in our driveway.

  13. When will we see this pickup available for sale in the United States ? GM … if you take too long to dot all the “i’s” an cross all the “t’s” you lose what customers you will gain … and those you already have. I understand the UAW strike is hurting business, but we’re needing a new car to replace a 14 year old we bought new. We’re wanting a ’24 Chevy Trax … we can wait for the Montana Truck maybe two to three months … don’t blow it GM.
