2025 GMC Yukon To Get 5G Network Connectivity

The GMC Yukon full-size SUV is poised to receive a mid-cycle refresh in conjunction with the 2025 model year, with a long list of upgrades and changes in store. Among these will be a wealth of new infotainment features, as well as the hardware to back them. Notably, the refreshed 2025 GMC Yukon will also get 5G network connectivity.

The upgrade to a 5G connection for the 2025 GMC Yukon shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, especially when considering the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe and refreshed 2025 Chevy Suburban will also upgrade to 5G. At present, the fifth-gen GMC Yukon offers a 4G connection. For those readers who may be unaware, 5G is the fifth-generation cellular network technology, offered as a direct replacement for the preceding fourth-generation (4G) cellular network technology. Cellular companies began deploying fifth-gen 5G tech in 2019. Benefits include greater bandwidth and expanded capacity.

In addition to new 5G tech, the refreshed 2025 GMC Yukon will also feature new exterior styling, including a redesigned front fascia with new C-shaped headlights, following in line with the latest GMC styling trends. The fascia will also sport new fog lights, while a new roof-mounted communications find will enable the SUV’s latest 5G connectivity. The rear will also feature styling updates, including new taillights.

Inside, the 2025 GMC Yukon will feature an overhauled cabin space and a new digital instrument panel, as well as a larger infotainment screen. These new infotainment options will also result in updates to the center stack and dash design in a more general sense. It’s unclear at this time if Denali and Denali Ultimate trim levels will continue to offer a unique interior layout, as is the case currently.

Under the hood, the 2025 GMC Yukon is expected to offer three powertrain options, including the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and, new for the 2025 model year, the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax, offered as a replacement for the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax offered currently.

Look for the 2025 GMC Yukon to debut before the calendar flips to 2024.

    2. GM offers 4G connectivity on most current models. All you have to do is pay a monthly fee through Onstar to activate it.
This is the logical next step. Not sure why you think they shouldn’t have it.

      1. They will still have 4G and are adding 5G, by the time 5G is active in all rural areas 6G will going online in metro areas and 4G will then be shutdown leaving todays produced vehicles useful as 8 track tapes.
I wonder why they are so slow to add 5G to vehicles they should be right with the smartphone makers.
