Last fall, GM debuted the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD featuring fresh exterior styling, a new interior, powertrain updates, and more. The refresh is highlighted by the arrival of the premium 2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali Ultimate, the pinnacle of heavy-duty trucks. The Denali Ultimate trim level is characterized by Vader chrome exterior bits, 20-inch Ultra-bright wheels, and an Alpine Umber interior.
In May, GM officially revealed the first-ever 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X and new 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition as Big Red’s most capable heavy-duty off-roaders.
Additionally, the 2024 Sierra HD gets new standard equipment across the lineup, including the Sierra HD Pro Safety suite of driver assistance technologies, plus available Adaptive Cruise Control. A wide variety of available trailering assistance tech can be had via the GMC ProGrade trailering system. Max towing figures are rated 22,430 pounds for 2500 HD models and 36,000 pounds for 3500 HD.
The truck’s exterior features a new front bumper, fascia, and grille treatment, along with the paint color changes. Alongside the refreshed color lineup, the 2024 Sierra HD has eight factory-installed wheel designs available, sized from 17 to 20 inches, and five LPO or dealer-installed wheel sets that are shipped directly to the dealership. This gives the revised pickup 13 wheel options in total.
Inside the cabin, the SLE and SLT trim levels offer a unique interior treatment, while the AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate trim levels boast a premium interior treatment. Highlights here include an all-new 13.4-inch-diagonal infotainment screen and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as standard on SLE and above, plus a new center console, and an available multicolor 15-inch head-up display.
Further tech highlights include built-in Google compatibility plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto, standard on all models except Pro.
Under the hood, the 2024 GMC Sierra continues offering the same two engines, with the 6.6L L8T V8 gasoline engine being standard and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine as an option. While power and torque for the gas motor remain the same, the Duramax boasts an improved, SAE-certified output boost to 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. For 2024, both the diesel engine and the gasoline engine now connect to GM’s 10-speed automatic transmission as standard, which replaces the GM six-speed equipped mated to gasoline-powered models previously.
Production of the refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD is currently under way, taking place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan.

I appreciate the articles with all the color options, but I wouldn’t exactly call it a first look. Thunderstorm Grey has been visible online for some time now, and is already in the hands of many customers. I’m glad GM is getting a wee bit more daring with some of their color options. I honestly wish manufactures would offer double the color options they currently do.
Same grey as before but they change the name🤷🏻♂️. Just call it grey
