The 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup has a new option available in the form of the passenger-side vertical spare tire carrier (RPO code SEL), adding additional capacity beyond that offered by the previously available driver-side carrier.
The passenger-side vertical tire carrier is an LPO level option for the EV Pickup, meaning it is dealer-installed rather than being equipped at the factory.
A driver-side vertical spare tire carrier (RPO code SEP) is already offered for the 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup as part of the Off-Road Readiness Package (RPO code PCH). The package is priced at $3,995 and is another LPO or dealer-installed option for the vehicle.
The passenger-side vertical carrier can only be ordered if the Off-Road Readiness Package is already chosen, meaning the passenger-side carrier cannot be selected as a standalone option. The carrier allows the vehicle to haul a second spare tire vertically in the bed of the truck. It is priced at $1,750 and is offered on the 2X and 3X trims, but not the base 2 trim level.
The Off-Road Readiness Package that is the prerequisite for the new passenger-side vertical spare tire carrier is designed to add more trail and off-road equipment to the Hummer EV Pickup. It consists of the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Spare Tire Jack and Tool Kit (5Y2)
- Off-Road Recovery Kit (S1H)
- Spare 18-inch Black Spare Wheel with Machine Accents (SGX)
- 18-inch Spare Tire (SC9)
- Bed-Mounted Vertical Spare Tire Carrier (SEP)
- Tire Pressure Monitor (SD5)
As a reminder, three GM Ultium Drive motors propel the 3X trim of the Hummer EV Pickup, providing peak output of 830 horsepower, or 1,000 horsepower with the optional Ultium 24-module battery pack equipped. The dual-motor configuration of the 2 and 2X trim levels develops an estimated 625 horsepower.
