Genesis has unveiled the enhanced 2024 Genesis G70, debuting an updated sport sedan for the North American market with a variety of new features. Chief among these is a new base engine, with the 2024 Genesis G70 now equipped as standard with a turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder producing 300 horsepower. The 2024 model year also brings an updated interior and a few other improvements. When it goes on sale, the 2024 Genesis G70 will rival the Cadillac CT5.
Outside, the G70 exterior features the new Genesis emblem engraved with a Guilloché pattern, something which is also found in luxury watches, while the exterior color lineup includes Vatna Gray and Kawah Blue.
The sedan also offers an updated interior that brings new touch-type climate controls, as well as a frameless rearview mirror, both of which are equipped as standard. There’s also new multi-function switches, new trim bits, new air vents, USB-C charging in the rear-seat area, and more. The sedan’s Digital Key is available to pair with Apple Wallet and Samsung Pass. Interior color layouts now include two new two-tone options, specifically Obsidian Black/Fog Gray and Obsidian Black/Vanilla Beige.
As for the new power spec, the 2024 Genesis G70 now features the same turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder engine as the Genesis GV70. Output is rated at 300 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque, a substantial 48-horsepower increase over the turbocharged 2.0L engine offered as standard previously. Meanwhile, the 2024 Genesis G70 is also available with the twin-turbocharged 3.3L V6, offered previously to produce 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. No word yet on if the V6 gets a power bump for the 2024 model year. High-performance Brembo brakes are included as standard as well.
Further details on the 2024 Genesis G70, including pricing and availability information, are expected later this year.

Got nothing against korea, well maybe north. But for price and esteem, and legacy I rather buy the caddy. Man do I miss the good old days 50k for a pick up?? 30k for a small 4 banger tin can?? Curious what will a pick up.cost in 2065 my 100th bday?? 150k get outta here.
I’ll walk before I drive a Hyundai!
Aren’t they a horse or two short of a herd ?
P.O.S.
Hmm… In January, I got one of the last non-hybrid Hondas– a 2022 Accord Sport 2.0T, 252 hp, 273 lb-ft on 87 octane, ECU learns about higher octane, increases output. A *lot* more power avail. from an inexpensive ECU tune if you want to void the warranty.
It looks like an identical twin (including color) of this Hyundai, but it’s a Honda (and priced like one), not a CT5 Cadillac!! Give me a break!! It’s also made in Ohio, not Lord-knows-where, if that matters to you.
Genesis G70 is not like a Honda Accord. Completely missed the point. RWD vs FWD are separate markets entirely. People buy Hondas for reliability and economy. People buy Genesis for Driving dynamics and great interiors (and lately exteriors). RWD or RWD biased AWD cannot be matched in driving feel and characteristics by FWD or FWD biased AWD. Iykyk.
Owned 4 of the G70’s in past few years. Great in many ways but way short of power even with the 3.3. Was not thrilled with the handling either when pushed. Not a criticism just my observations from experience.
Nice enough looking car and the power/torque seem to be in a nice area. But I think if I were looking for a nice more luxury sedan, I’d stick with the Caddy.
Born in6 65 grew up on Dat510 having most jap 4 cyl n a couple I30’s. My budget was for used then was given a 2011 Sonata. I drive the 5 boros hard n little radio issue fixed by Bluetooth 151k made me a fan. Far cry from the excelle my friend rolled in 91″
Respectfully, haven’t driven a caddy lately, used to drive like boats and break down a lot. Have indeed driven the G70 and GV70 and loved both and I drive BMW 335i e90 and X3 f25 sport in same segments as is. Interiors and infotainment blow away both the bmws and ofcourse the fisher-price-caddys. No disrespect, but domestic brands are sentimental overpriced indulgences and if they can charge same as the Germans then so can Genesis, who are truly disruptors shaking things up. Yes, at 9-tenths and 10/tenths the top of the line M’s and CT-V/5 might out perform a G70 but at that point they’re nearing the $100k CAD price point so it’s not a fair comparison. I’m curious to see a G70-N. By the way, the GV70 3.5 suv goes sideways in turns in sports+ mode with two finger steering, I’m talking drifts for days.. Can’t say the same for any of the competition.
2024 Genesis G70 length : 185.6 in.
2024 Caddy CT4 length : 187.2 in.
2024 Caddy CT5 length : 193.8 in.
Comparing G70 to CT5 is very funny. The G70 is a smaller vehicle than the CT4 and no buyer compares the G70 to the CT5. Who’s thinking is that the G70 is a competitor to CT5???
The comment about CT’s was in terms of driving dynamics, the top of line Cadillacs CT4/5/V may handle better than top of line G70 etc and power to them for it, however the price points will be higher than Genesis G70. That was my point as someone earlier in comments had commented about preferring to buy Cadillacs over Hyundai/Genesis and G70 handling not being the absolute best at full out at road course levels of testing (as is done for German performance sports sedans on the Nurburging etc.) Dollar value of Hyundai Genesis in engineering and driver focused G70 and GV70 are compelling options for enthusiast sports sedan/suv shoppers for daily driving, arguably better than the Germans, Genesis have won repeated cars of the year by many reviewers in recent years of global not just domestic cars. There is a world outside the US and it compares the products of more than just the Big Three and Toyotas made in good old US of A. Make better cars for less and we’ll buy domestics too. Don’t sling patriotism and protectionism for pension funds as rationale for continuing to buy murican. Instead, make the better product at the lowest price. Consumers win when there is competition in marketplace and Genesis have been a much needed breath of freshness.
G70 vs CT4, CT5 length is trunk space. G80, G90 where is that land yacht Cadillac? I forgot, in China.
Obviously a lot of people here have never experienced driving or even riding in a Genesis or Hyundai. Well I currently have 2022 2LT HTC C8 CORVETTE which we love but, also have a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Caligraphy which is great. Previously owned a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Caligraphy which was damaged by a service delivery truck backing into it (not at fault for us), also owned Genesis GV80 and G80 which were outstanding and highly recommended by Road and Track over other manufacturers high end vehicles for quality, reliability, emenities and price. This is my opinion but, to each there own opinion is what counts for them. Tomg
The Genesis G70 is a fantastic looking sedan and I see quite a few around here. I also think the Alfa Romeo is fantastic too but heard that maintenance is a nightmare and only rich people can afford to maintain the Giulia. IMO, the CT5, Giulia and G70 could be the best sports sedans in the segment at the moment.
G70 is a smaller car compared to the CT5. It rivals the CT4. The G80 and now discontinued Kia Stinger is what really rivals the CT5.
I guarantee the people commenting on how much superior the Caddy is to the G70, have never set foot inside the Genesis….. or the CT variants.
Why would they? It’s a Hyundai, sold at Hyundai dealerships. If you’re going to troll you need to step up your game.
