The 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 drops in as the fourth-generation pickup’s sixth model year, once again offering a long list of trims and configurations to suit customer needs. Among the trims is the 2024 Chevy Silverado ZR2, which tops the lineup as the light-duty Silverado’s highly capable off-roader option. Notably, the 2024 Chevy Silverado ZR2 is available with new beadlock-capable wheels.
For those readers who may be unaware, beadlock-capable wheels incorporate bolts around the edge of the rim that increase the clamping force between the wheel and the tire, sealing the tire bead to the wheel. This allows the user to lower the tire pressure without the danger of unseating the tire from the wheel. This is particularly useful when off-roading, as a lower tire pressure will allow the tire’s contact patch to conform to the uneven surfaces encountered out on the trail.
With that in mind, beadlock-capable wheels should make for a perfect fit for the 2024 Chevy Silverado ZR2, which is geared specifically for off-road enthusiasts. The new 2024 Chevy Silverado ZR2 beadlock-capable wheels are offered as an LPO-level option, which means they are installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory when the vehicle is produced, and are tagged with RPO code EU2. The wheels are 18 inches in diameter, and include a black inner facing and Oxide Gold decorative outer ring.
Pricing for the new wheels is not yet available. However, it should be noted that the wheels are not available in conjunction with the 2024 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison Edition package, which already includes 18-inch Gloss Black wheels from AEV.
As GM Authority covered previously, the 2024 Chevy Silverado ZR2 introduces a few interesting updates over the preceding 2023 model year, including the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine. The new LZ0 diesel engine joins the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine offered as the exclusive engine option for the 2023 model year. Both powerplants pair with the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.

WOW!!!!! Can’t wait to see how dealers will jam the customer on the price for these. One can bet, they will overprice these bad boys beyond what they are really worth. Go to the after market and get a better wheel at a better price. Dealer installed options are great 20-30 years down the road at auction. But too overpay now, is crazy.
