General Motors unveiled the refreshed 2024 Chevy Silverado HD last year, but kept the new-for-2024 Silverado HD ZR2 off-roader under wraps until earlier this year. Eventually breaking cover this past April, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 equips the heavy-duty pickup with a wealth of trail-ready components and upgrades, exactly as expected for any model bearing a ZR2 badge. Now, we’re taking a closer look at the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 in Summit White thanks to the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.
Captured on the floor of the 2023 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), also known as the Detroit Auto Show, the Summit White paint (paint code GAZ) on this 2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 does well to show the off-roader’s blocky, aggressive styling. ZR2 units stand out from the rest of the lineup thanks to a unique front grille, which is paired with a flow-tie emblem to really set it off. The red inner coloring on the emblem accents the red tow hooks located lower in the fascia, as well as the ZR2 badge.
Viewed from the profile, we see 18-inch Gloss Black wheels wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires. The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 also runs a 1.5-inch suspension lift front and rear compared to standard Silverado HD 4WD variants. Multimatic DSSV dampers assist in off-road capability. There’s also a set of integrated mudguards, a steel transfer case skid plate, and an aluminum front skid plate. To note, the Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 trim level is only available on the 2500 Crew Cab body configuration.
Under the hood, the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine is equipped as standard, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. The updated 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine is offered as optional, and is now rated at 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque following the latest 2024 model-year refresh. Both engines mate to the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission.
Deliveries of the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD ZR2 began this past September. Pricing starts at $72,595.

Bout time to bring back the ZR2 2Door blazer.
Chevy is a Corvette away from no 2-doors at all. And the Blazer is now an asphalt-angel 4dr. They won’t even offer a 2dr ZR2 Silverado, so give up on future GM 2dr dreams.
