2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison To Offer Recovery Package

The third-generation Chevy Colorado made its formal introduction for the 2023 model year, with the subsequent 2024 Chevy Colorado introducing several important updates and changes. Notably, the off-road-oriented 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison will be available with a new Recovery Package, which includes a few key components for those customers ready to take the pickup out on the trail. Now, GM Authority has the details on what’s in store.

The new Recovery Package for the 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison is tagged with RPO code PCN, and includes the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • Off-road recovery kit (S1H)
  • Auxiliary Interior Switch Kit (VZJ)
  • Winch by COMEUP (VW1)

The new Recovery Package will be offered as an LPO-level option, which means it will be installed by the dealer, rather than at the factory when the vehicle is initially produced.

For the moment, pricing information for the 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison’s Recovery Package is currently unavailable. However, the option was previously offered for the 2023 Chevy Colorado ZR2 for an extra $2,495, and was offered exclusively in conjunction with the Desert Boss Special Edition package, the latter of which was priced at $9,295.

That all said, the new Recovery Package for the 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison is currently unavailable to order, and it’s unclear at this time when it will be made available.

It also bears mentioning that the Chevy Colorado is poised to drop the Desert Boss Special Edition Package after the 2023 model year, as it will be indirectly replaced by the new-for-2024 ZR2 Bison, per an exclusive GM Authority report.

Further updates for the 2024 Chevy Colorado include deletion of the mid-level Turbo Plus 2.7L engine option, making the Turbo 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine (237 horsepower, 260 pound-feet of torque) and the Turbo High-Output I4 L3B gasoline engine (310 horsepower, 430 pound-feet of torque) the two remaining engine options offered for the 2024 model year.

As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Colorado rides on the updated 31XX-2 platform, with production designated for the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.
