2024 Cadillac Lyriq Shoppers Can Now Perform Inventory Search On Brand Website

Back in August, GM Authority reported that Cadillac Lyriq shoppers were unable to perform a search for the Cadillac Lyriq using Cadillac’s inventory search tool. Now, however, that has changed, as the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq is officially available to search at Cadillac’s website.

For those readers interested in searching for nearby Cadillac Lyriq units, head over to Cadillac.com, click Shop, then New Vehicle Inventory, then use the tool bar to select the Cadillac Lyriq. Interestingly, some Cadillac Lyriq units have an estimated arrival date, which is a new addition for GM’s inventory search tool.

As expected, the tool allows users to narrow their search based on the price (including cash, finance, and lease options), as well as model / trim level, model year, exterior color, interior color, drive type, and more.

As GM Authority covered in August, Cadillac Lyriq sales have been rather poor, especially compared to the segment-leading Tesla Model Y, the latter of which dominated the D-Segment Luxury EV CUV segment in the second quarter of 2023 with 98 percent of the market share, or 105,500 units sold, as compared to the 1,348 Cadillac Lyriq units sold during the same timeframe.

Sales Numbers - D-Segment Luxury EV CUVs - Q2 2023 - USA

MODEL Q2 23 / Q2 22 Q2 23 Q2 22 Q2 23 SHARE Q2 22 SHARE YTD 23 / YTD 22 YTD 23 YTD 22
TESLA MODEL Y +99.06% 105,500 53,000 98% 95% +76.39% 190,500 108,000
CADILLAC LYRIQ * 1,348 * 1% 0% * 2,316 0
AUDI E-TRON -75.65% 660 2,710 1% 5% -63.85% 1,713 4,738
JAGUAR I-PACE +40.33% 167 119 0% 0% -3.99% 265 276
TOTAL +92.87% 107,675 55,829 +72.36% 194,794 113,014

Naturally, these low sales figures for the Lyriq can be chalked up to variety of different issues beyond the unavailability of an inventory search tool. Some of the other issues include production problems, quality control issues, recalls, and battery availability.

As a reminder, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq introduces a new base trim level to the lineup, specifically the Cadillac Lyriq Tech, slotting in under the Luxury and Sport. The new trim level is part of a revision to Cadillac’s Y-trim level strategy, which branches into two distinct directions, one of which includes luxury-oriented trim levels, the other of which includes sporty trim levels.

Underneath the body panels, the Cadillac Lyriq rides on the GM BEV3 platform, with GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors providing the motivation. Production takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

      1. Too many problems to list. Dealer or LYRIQ Concierge no help. GM kept this LYRIQ, as well as others, for 6 months after built to correct problems before shipping. I guess GM gave up and shipped anyway.

        1. That is too bad. I liked the reviews and the way the car looked. I like a cruiser. New its too expensive but I thought I could get a used one someday.

  4. We have a 2021 mach e GTPE and model y AWD long range both excellent ev. GTPE very powerful, lots of normal buttons, sport seats, brembo brakes, easy learning curve. Model y is luxury with a minimalistic interior which is excellent. High tech features work every time. New suspension, acoustic glass, better brakes and supportive seats and excellent fit and finish.
Couldnt ever see us looking at a GM product. They just say they will make so many models of ev but not really. I would sway a few! M Barra in her past press conference praised their new platform to beat tesla and Ford by 2023. That was in 2021and 2022. GM and Vw are on my never buy list. Toyota gets a lot of press which are paid ads in ev publications from their 900 mile battery to 16 new models. When you ask in 2035. Hopefully the wheels wont fall off and range could be say 240 miles in RWD or less.

    2. Tesla is a premium brand and a lot of people don’t consider them luxury like Cadillac. GM’s EVs will gain strength for the next quarter like they did for the 3rd quarter and quality control will be worked out by then. Remember that Tesla had bunch of issues as a brand new automaker when they first came out so any automaker entering into new territory is going to have a rough beginning and things don’t go a certain way a business hopes for it to. If you don’t like GM and VW, more power to you and not everyone can like the same automaker so you have the purchasing power of your liking.

  5. Great ….now you can search for a Lyric in a specific ZIP Code, BUT the Lyriq is included with ALL of the other models.

GM can spend multiple millions of dollars on advertising campaign for a car that they haven’t been able to deliver more than 5000 of in two years, but it can’t spend enough to do the simplest web code to allow a search by a single model????

  7. Enough already, GM. By the time the Lyriq is in full production (which should’ve happened a year ago), Q8eTron, X5PHEV, Model X, etc will be on their next gens. Out with it: is it REALLY production issues???
