Almost seven months after the start of the pre-sale period for the new 2024 Cadillac Lyriq in Mexico, General Motors has just officially introduced Cadillac‘s first all-electric crossover in that country.
The automaker officially presented the new 2024 Cadillac Lyriq for the first time in Mexico, confirming the long-awaited arrival of the zero-emissions crossover to the Mexican market – where its marketing start was scheduled for the third quarter of the year. However, that timeline was finally not met and the company had to readjust the launch schedule, now stating that the 2024 Lyriq will arrive in the Latin country at the end of the year.
“Aligned with GM’ vision of a zero-emissions future, Lyriq sets the standard for the future of Cadillac, elevating the luxury SUV experience with cutting-edge technology and the highest quality materials, now in a range of brand new electric vehicles,” said Marketing Manager for Cadillac at GM Mexico, Teresa Vera. “It is a particular convergence of art, technology and performance, which can only be described as the Cadillac of electric vehicles,” she added.
The new 2024 Cadillac Lyriq will expand the brand’s model offering in Mexico as its flagship crossover and represents the beginning of its portfolio’s transition to fully electric powertrains by 2030. As such, the 2024 Lyriq is an iconic vehicle that introduces a new era for the century-old brand with more luxury, technology, and performance in an unprecedented zero-emissions package.
Confirmed as the first vehicle based on GM’s all-electric Ultium architecture to arrive in Mexico, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq will be available in the country with a single high-end configuration based on the Sport trim level with a two-motor AWD powertrain, which develops 373 kW or 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. This version offers a driving range of 500 km on a full charge.
The new 2024 Cadillac Lyriq will be available in Mexico next December, on sale exclusively at the 18 Cadillac EV dealerships in the country equipped with 150kW ultra-fast charging stations. It will come standard with a comprehensive list of features and technologies, including a dual-level portable charge cord and the installation of a level-two home charger. The Lyriq can be chosen in six colors with a contrasting black roof or a unicolor body, a two-tone interior and exclusive accessories. Here is the price of the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq in Mexico:
- 2024 Lyriq Sport AWD: 1,899,000 pesos (about $104,300 USD at the current exchange rate)
