For the new model year, the 2024 Buick Envision will receive a mid-cycle refresh that includes the likes of updates to exterior styling and interior amenities. Now, GM Authority has learned that the refreshed Envision will gain four new interior colorways.
The new interior colorway list for the 2024 Envision are as follows (corresponding trim levels in parenthesis):
- Ebony seats with Ebony interior accents (Preferred and Avenir)
- Sandstone seats with Ebony interior accents (Preferred)
- Ebony seats with Sky Cool Gray and Ebony interior accents (Sport Touring)
- Garnet seats with Ebony interior accents (Sport Touring)
- Cool Gray seats with Slate Blue interior accents (Avenir)
It’s worth noting that the entry-level Preferred trim will now feature perforated leatherette upholstery instead of cloth. In addition, Sport Touring gets perforated leather-appointed seats with synthetic suede inserts and piping, while Avenir gets quilted and perforated leather with piping.
For comparison’s sake, the 2023 Envision featured just two interior colorways:
- Ebony seats with Ebony interior accents
- Whisper Beige seats with Ebony interior accents
Notably, both interior colorways were available on all trim levels, with cloth upholstery for the Preferred and perforated leather for the Essence and Avenir trims. Additionally, Whisper Beige will be dropped following the 2023 model year.
As a reminder, the 2024 Buick Envision features a revised front fascia with a new grille and dual-tier headlamps, while the refreshed rear fascia boasts a new bumper and revised taillamps.
In regard to the interior, the cabin is set to receive a noteworthy overhaul that includes an updated gauge cluster, larger center display, new infotainment features, and reworked center stack.
Under the hood, the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, will serve as the sole offering, while output is routed to an standard AWD drivetrain via the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.
As for structure, the Buick Envision rides on the GM E2 platform, while production is currently scheduled to kick off at the GM-SAIC Jinqiao Plant in Shanghai, China on December 11th, 2023.

Now that AWD is being forced, I no longer have the slightest interest in this vehicle any longer.
Great, that means one more new Envision for the tens of thousands that will be clamoring for this amazing and beautiful premium vehicle. If you don’t want AWD then get an Envista or an Encore GX.
Jeff G: Why should a person be forced to buy something they don’t need or what? And if they don’t wish to pay extra for that (AWD), why should they be forced to go buy a lesser vehicle or another brand? Wouldn’t it be just as easy or easier for you and the ones who want or need AWD to just buy the version with it?
Your mentality here is just like with the SUV/CUV’s and telling those of us who don’t want or need one to stop complaining and just buy an SUV. Maybe YOU want or need AWD, but about 50% of the buyers have zero need or use for it. And I have absolutely no problem with them offering AWD, SUV’s, sunroofs, etc, etc. But don’t force those things upon me and make me pay for it.
Same can be said for the stop/start technology and mandatory Wi-Fi and audio subscriptions.
Then buy a 2023
FWD Equinox
Beachy:
Who are you kidding? You never had any interest in it.
You are right, AWD is not needed in many states and adds unnecesary costs and complexity to a vehicle , which translates to costy repairs in the future. My AWD Enclave had slipping rear AWD clutches and then later on transfer case bearings failed causing a whine. Both withen a range of about 70k – 80k milles
RJ: Strange how several comments disappeared from here, one of them mine.
I agree 100% with you and that original commenter who brought this same thin up (about higher repair costs and lower MPG). Mazda did this same thing about 2 years ago making every SUV in the line standard with AWD. Stupidity at it’s finest.
Buick has really stepped up to the plate with the new Envision, including the design freshening, interior details plus the new colors, technology additions, and standard AWD!
Initially I hated the new front design. I didn’t feel it flowed well with the rest of the vehicle since nothing else changed much and I liked the outgoing design. Maybe once I see more in person in various trims I will warm up to it.
But on the topic of interior colors, I’m really interested to see how the garnet turns out. That could be appealing to me over standard black.
I would love to see a photo of those Garnet seats !!!
Yes, I would also like to see the colors on this site. Also maybe the exterior colors as well.
2014 Enclave AWD watershed grill was the best front end style. A real classic, in my opinion and a great car too. This 2023 looks wonderful.
BUILD IT IN THE USA **************
Looked better before refresh! I get former design language was from Opel, that the new lighting follows a trend, but the new look reminds me of Ford Escape with that massive grille.
The shift to AWD plays to Buick’s strengths as a safety brand. Not a bad idea. Unfortunately, they dropped some nice styling
That whisper beige interior brightened the interior cabin and elevated the openess. Wouldn’t exchange it for any other color.
Made in China. FAIL.
Why do the GX, the Envista, and the Envision all look so similar. Wouldn’t it be better to have vehicles that looked different?
They have a family look, James, but comparing the size and features of each, they are very different.
May I actually get to see these colors? Do I have to guess? Let’s see, Ebony means white, Sandstone means red, Slate Blue is darker than Navy Blue, correct?
So the process begins to GM black interior only the envision. Another dull black GM interior and execs wondering why sales go down.
This is the first vehicle that wears the wildcat design language well. It looks like it’s made for bigger cars like the Envision and Enclave which I can’t wait to see. But the Encore GX doesn’t wear it well, and the Envista looks good at some angles and awkward at others.
People complaining that it’s made in China like 80% of the stuff they purchase isn’t from there already. Including car parts.
And actually, this is the first car I’ve had no problems with, maybe because it was made in China? Hate to admit that but after 2.5 years if owning it not one issue!
Detroit has complained about not finding enough employees who are “THC-free”. I have nothing against legalization but based on this alone, I’d rather have a foreign made car — fewer bolts will be missing.
When can we expect pect to see these in dealership s?
Stew W… so made in the USA with Chinese parts … the Enclave… why do people think that any vehicle is purely American anymore because it isn’t, the 50’s and 60’s in this country where 100 percent made in the USA thst doesn’t happen anymore wether it’s a Ford, Chrysler or GM product… heck even Toyota uses Chinese parts. Who cares where it’s made if I like it I will buy it and give GM my money!
It really is a perfect car in many ways. I almost bought one until I happened to notice where it was manufactured. Another US company selling its soul to the Chinese. GM most likely had to give up valuable intellectual property for the privilege of selling its cars. China will have this model copied and will be selling it for $5k less in about two years
Just hope that GM isn’t using that fake plastic wood grain on the new Avenir trim. The interior on the 2023 Buick Envision Avenir felt so cheap to us. Otherwise, it was a beautiful SUV!
Keep the whisper beige
