If you’re looking to take your rivals to school, this 2008 Chevy Express 3500 Cargo Extended Van could be the perfect machine to do it. Dubbed the “Kool Bus,” this heavily modified Chevy Express is equipped with a plethora of go-faster cues, both inside and out. Now, the Kool Bus is up for sale.
Spotted on Facebook Marketplace, the Chevy Express Kool Bus is located in Hudson, New Hampshire, and it doesn’t skimp on the details. Outside, we see the traditional yellow and black color scheme, as one would expect. However, the closer we look, the better this thing gets. For example, the stop sign on the side of the bus was covered in a checkered flag print, while dual exhaust pipes extend out from underneath the rear bumper. There’s also a set of polished custom wheels.
However, we’d be doing a disservice if we didn’t give top honors to the massive blower sticking out the hood. Although the vehicle listing does not provide too much information with regard to specs or power numbers, it bears to reason the Chevy Express Kool Bus is cradling a Small Block Chevy V8, while up top, that supercharger is a 471. The V8 connects to an automatic transmission.
The fun continues in the cabin, where we find seven individual racing seats, each with equipped racing harnesses. The harnesses look like they’ll need to be properly installed before taking a rip down the track. The floor includes more of the checkered flag design, just like the sign mounted on the side of the Kool Bus, while air conditioning will keep passengers comfy. There’s also a TV mounted above the driver, as if getting driven around in this thing wasn’t entertaining enough.
The listing says this Chevy Express hot rod has roughly 80,000 miles on the clock. The seller has pricing listed at $22,500. That ain’t cheap, but odds are the new owner will be first in line at morning drop off.
