The 2024 Chevy SIlverado 1500 introduces the fourth generation pickup’s sixth model year with only a few updates and changes. Now, GM Authority has learned the 22-inch Bright Chrome multi-spoke wheels tagged with RPO code SSW are currently unavailable to order on the 2024 model.
The Bright Chrome multi-spoke wheels are normally offered as an LPO or dealer-installed option for the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 rather than as a factory-installed wheel choice.
Chevy ordinarily offers the 22-inch Bright Chrome wheels on the LT, RST, LTZ, and High Country trim levels of the 2024 Chevy Silverado. When ordered in conjunction with the RST trim these wheels include center caps that feature the Bow Tie emblem in black.
As is usually the case with LPO wheel options, 22-inch steel wheels are installed on the trucks at the factory with alignment specs set for the selected 22-inch wheel. Once the LPO wheels are installed on the vehicle before delivery to the customer the dealer ships the temporary steel wheels back to the factory.
It’s unclear at this time when this LPO wheel set will be available to order again on the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500.
While introducing mostly minor updates from the 2022.5 model year mid-cycle refresh, the 2024 Chevy Silverado debuts significant pricing changes across its extensive trim level lineup, as GM Authority previously uncovered. The changes include both price increases and decreases, with WT trims’ prices rising $500, High Country trims’ MSRP growing $600, and ZR2 and ZR2 Bison prices falling $1,600 because of a less costly standard powerplant.
The 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is motivated by four different engine choices, which include the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline TurboMax engine developing 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine cranking out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine producing 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.
Notably, the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is also equipped with the revised Hydra-Matic 8L80 eight-speed automatic transmission (RPO code MFC) when equipped with the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, while the other three engines in the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 engine lineup continue to be paired with the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.
Under the body panels, structure is provided to the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 by the GM T1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Oshawa plant in Canada, and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.
