The refreshed 2024 Chevy Silverado HD got its big debut last year, with General Motors pulling the sheets on revised exterior styling, an overhauled cabin, new tech items, an upgraded powertrain, and the new Silverado HD ZR2 off-roader. Notably, one of the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD’s wheel options is currently unavailable to order. Now, GM Authority has the details.
According to GM Authority sources, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is currently unavailable to order with the optional 20-inch Machined Aluminum Bolt Pattern wheels with High Gloss Black Accents (RPO code SQ9). These wheels are offered as an LPO-level option, which means they are installed at the dealer, rather than at the factory.
The 20-inch Machined Aluminum Bolt Pattern wheels with High Gloss Black Accents for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD are normally offered as optional for LT, LTZ, and High Country trim levels, priced at $3,350.
In total, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD offers 14 different wheel options. Sizing ranges between 17 inches and 20 inches in diameter, and include both aluminum and steel construction. Check out GM Authority’s previous coverage for more information on the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD’s wheel sets.
As was the case for the 2023 model year as well, the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD is available in both 2500 HD and 3500 HD configurations, as well as both single-rear-wheel and dual-rear-wheel configurations.
As for the powertrain lineup, customers have two engines to choose from, starting with the naturally aspirated 6.6L L8T V8 gasoline engine, equipped as standard. Output is rated at 401 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 464 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. The 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine is offered as optional, doling out 470 horsepower at 2,800 rpm and 975 pound-feet of torque at 1,600, as compared to 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque produced prior to the 2024 model-year refresh.
The 2024 Chevy Silverado HD rides on a more-capable variant of the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan and GM Oshawa plant in Canada.

The Silverado I am looking to purchase says it includes the High Capacity Suspension Package. What does this actually accomplish? A stiffer ride like the Z71 because I hated that. Please help, this truck will be gone if I don’t get on it.
