Refreshed 2024 Jeep Gladiator Launched As Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon Rival

Stellantis has unveiled the 2024 Jeep Gladiator at the 2023 North American International Auto Show, pulling the sheets on a refreshed rival for the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups. Highlights include revised styling, new models, new technology features, and a wealth of off-road oriented equipment. Official pricing information is still forthcoming.

The refreshed 2024 Jeep Gladiator crosses a river.

When it comes to the looks, the 2024 Jeep Gladiator is adorned with a new seven-slot grille, above which is a folding windshield with integrated antenna. Seven all-new wheel designs, three roof options, three door choices (including available half doors and removable doors) are available to spec. In addition, three upfit packages offered by American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) are now available, called Upcountry, Upcountry+ and Level II, including suspension lift kits, all-terrain tires and AEV off-road accessories.

The trim level lineup includes Sport, Willys, Mojave, and Rubicon, plus two new range-toppers, the Mojave X and Rubicon X, which feature an integrated off-road camera, steel bumpers, and Nappa leather-trimmed seats.

Speaking of the sitters, the 2024 Jeep Gladiator is available with 12-way power-adjusting front seats. The cabin also features an all-new instrument panel with a standard 12.3-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android auto are also standard, as are side-curtain airbags, while forward collision warning and advanced cruise control with stop is standard on Sport S trims and above.

Under the hood, the refreshed 2024 Jeep Gladiator cradles the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine with engine stop-start. Output is rated at 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while a six-speed manual transmission is standard, and an eight-speed automatic is optional. The 2024 Jeep Gladiator provides 7,700 pounds of max towing capacity and up to 1,725 pounds max payload. To note, the 2024 Jeep Gladiator no longer offers a diesel engine option, as was the case prior to the 2024 model year.

A quartet of four-wheel-drive systems are offered, with water fording up to 31.5 inches, an approach angle up to 44.7 degrees, a breakover angle up to 20.9 degrees, a departure angle up to 26 degrees, and ground clearance up to 11.6 inches.

Look for the 2024 Jeep Gladiator to hit U.S. dealers by the end of the year.

  1. And STILL, GM has no solid axle rival!!!! GM is soooo late to the game. All they need to do, is use an existing body on frame unit, put solid Dana axles under it, front and rear, and they will corner the market in a NY Minuet! Haven’t had a true off road truck, since they dropped the solid axle Square Body, in ’91. Come on Mary. Everything can’t be an EV! You are missing a great opportunity!!!!!! AND money maker!

    1. I’ve been saying this for years, GM would crush the market with a true Jeep competitor, but Mary only wants to build boring electric crossovers. Sad.

      1. To a lot of people it is a Jeep thing. Pentastars have been around for awhile and relatively reliable. ZF automatics are probably the cream of the crop. Do not know what they use for a manual but gm will never give you that option.

  3. I agree ALOT!!!! GM has been a day late and a dollar short, since 1991. The demize of the Square Body line. Building nothing but unibody tin krap. is NOT the way to go. Just one simple line of trucks, in one single plant, they could build a JEEP KILLER in no time. It’s been over 30 years, since GM had a REAL truck in their line-up. Don’t you think it’s time??????
