Ford Motor Company has revealed the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150, debuting an updated rival for the Chevy Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups. The 2024 Ford F-150 introduces a wealth of changes over the preceding 2023 model year, including new styling and new tech features, as well as a new multifunction tailgate, as was predicted by our sister publication, Ford Authority, in 2020. The refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 will launch next year.
Outside, the 2024 Ford F-150 presents revised styling with standard LED lighting, new wheel options, and a redesigned grille. Several exterior styling packages are once again on the table for customization. The new F-150 also offers a new multifunction tailgate, dubbed Pro Access Tailgate, which includes a 100-degree fully opened integrated swing gate with multiple opening positions.
The trim level cadence includes XL through Platinum Plus, as well as special variants like the Tremor, Raptor, and Raptor R. Standard safety technology features include Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping System, and Blind Spot information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, among others. The 2024 Ford F-150 is also available with a 7.2 kW PowerBoost feature for exportable electric power.
Under the hood, the 2024 F-150 is equipped as standard with the turbocharged 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine, while powertrain options include the 3.5L EcoBoost V6, the 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid V6, the twin-turbo 3.5L High Output V6 in the F-150 Raptor, a 5.0L V8, and the supercharged 5.2L V8 in the Raptor R. Notably, Ford says hybrid variants of the F-150 lineup will have increased production for the 2024 model year, with plans to double the current 10-percent hybrid mix. A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board.
Depending on the configuration, the 2024 Ford F-150 offers upwards of 13,500 pounds in towing and 2,455 pounds in payload.
Look for the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 to launch early next year. Further details, including pricing information, is expected at a later date.

Probably the wimpiest mid cycle refresh ive seen in a while.
Am I going to have to trade my 2015 4wd 5.3 dbl cab restart Silverado for a new Ford pick-up to stay with the times?
Same body style since forever, they just keep changing the front end about every year. Oh no they are improving the interior with new technology wow. Change your whole exterior with a new design. The engineer must be in a coma since 2000. They even borrowed the bumper steps and bed side step from the Chevrolet and GMC 2500 on their F250- F350.
The same can can be said about the GMC and Ram. Considering both have looked the same for years and borrowed tailgate ideas from Ford. Even Honda for that matter.
Hmm no diesel option and no auto 4WD as standard on 4X4’s and GM will still just keep climbing until they pass them. Wake up Ford!
Bigger issue? No powertrain update with 6th gen small block around the corner
I’m sure Ford has a new truck coming in 2 or 3 years. Fords engines are pretty far ahead of GMs right now so I doubt it is going to be an issue.
It’s tough to hear, but the current GM engines are pretty old and down on power and efficiency.
The V8’s have made the exact same power since 2014. Ford has tweaked the 5.0L a few times since then and is almost up to what the 6.2L can do.
I don’t know why GM didn’t bother getting more power out of them when they added DFM in 2019.
The engines are great, but a better cam profile to bump the power up is desperately needed.
I also think they are missing the mark with refusing to add a hybrid to the trucks. EV only is for people that never really needed a truck in the first place.
down on power and efficiency according to your terlet magazines. But in real life and real truck use, GM’s engines are superior to the blow-motor Fords. Unless you’re just doing your Saturday Costco runs….
Sorry man, but only a only GM person would put GM engines in front. 5.0 has better acceleration and fuel economy than the 6.2. Don’t forget the 6.2 requires premium. So a cheap engine that gets fuel economy and 87 octane to match the 5.3, but better performance than the 6.2.
Ford 2.7 is more powerful and efficient than the GM 2.7 and also “not a 4 cylinder”. 3.5 is unrivaled and that’s not even getting into the Powerboost if that’s your jam (not mine)
GM does have a pretty good diesel but I certainly don’t want a diesel anything.
I’m excited for the next gen v8s from GM and hopeful they also don’t get neutered.
Pffft. Ford motor choices suck. How do i arrive at that???? Look at the prices for a similar priced truck. The 2.7chevy prices around the ford 3.3. Chevy blowes ford out of the watter on that one. The 5.3 prices almost identical to the 2.7 EB, where ford is under a lawsuit for exagerating fuel economy numbers, and the 5.3 blows away the 2.7 in towing and acceleration. Ditto the 6.2 to the 5.0, and the 6.2 is neck and neck with the ford 3.5 ecoturd, but way more reliable.
Powerboost is suckky expensive and doesnt save you at the pump nearly as well as the 3.0 diesel.
The only thing ford has over GM is the raptor engibes. GM should gave dropped the LT5 in their trucks.
Dude, Ford dropped the 3.3 engine for 2024. The 2.7 is now standard.
Exactly, and chevys 2.7 is way more affordable. I think 4×4 is now a 6000$ option on the f150 XL because they are trying to keep a low starting price yet are so much more expensive to build. You can get a 5.3 V8 for an low level ford now.
Doubled down on my research. The 6.2 struggled to beat the 0-60 run of the ecoboost in C&D’s test when they tested a platnium against a high country with off road tires. When motortrend retested with the RST and the 6.2, it was way faster than the ecoturd and nipping at the heals of the high output ecoturd. Ford will be sorry when the next gen V8’s hit the streets.
I’m team Chevy but nah bruh, you cappin. The Ford 2.7 beats the Chevy 2.7, the Ford 5.0 beats the 5.3, the Ford 3.5 beats the 3.0, the powerboost beats the 6.2 and Chevy has no answer for the 5.2 or high out 3.5. But the only Ford I want is the single cab, short 5.0 base. Those things can run high 12’s out the factory. No single cab, short bed Chevy with a 5.3 can run that out the factory.
Not true GM just recently introduced the new Duramax 3.0 LZO Diesel Engine and the 2.7 Liter was also updated with new Torque Specs for the Colorado and Canyon.
GM’s already “passed them up”…
I agree with you on 4×4 auto but not many people opt for the diesel in half-tons. Most GM trucks on the road have the 2.7 and 5.3 engines. Also most Ford managers order the 2.7, 3.5 and 5.0 engine so Ford dropped their diesel option. Other than 4 auto the base Ford trucks offer more than the base GM trucks. For starters GM still puts the prior generation interiors in the base WT and Custom. Ford’s XL and STX has has the latest interior. GM will not let you have the 6.2 engine in the base trucks. The Ford 2.7 out powers the GM 2.7, the Ford 5.0 out powers the GM 5.3 and the Ford 3.5 out powers the GM 3.0 engine. The base Ford has led lights, 12 inch screen and digital cluster. The base GM trucks have halogen bulbs, 7 inch screen and a analog cluster. You can even get a panoramic roof on a mid trim Ford XLT that not even GM’s top dog Denali offers. Honestly, I just don’t see why Ford would lose a y sales.
I agree. Some don’t realize you can like Chevy and still want them to do better, because others are.
Uhmmmmm the base ford has like a 4” screen, and is still almost 6K more expensive than a chevy when comparatively equipped
For 2024 all F-150 trucks come standard with a 12 inch screen.
Ford needs to change the swooped side window…personally I’m so tired of it, (I like it when it first debuted) however it’s been played out.
I personally know of a few people that switch from F-150 to Sierra or Silverado because of Ford F -150 lack of a true styling refresh.
Tell us you don’t need a truck without actually telling us. If you need a truck, you aren’t buying because of looks and that is sad if a single design characteristic is the reason someone doesn’t buy something, it is amazing how petty and image conscious people are these days. Go buy a nice little CUV, it rides better.
Is that you Mr. Mike?!!! I bet it is… regretful Ford Man!
Commonsense; true I don’t go Baja however, Im a home builder and need a truck every day more then most.
I have owned many brands of trucks over the years I have had much better service from my Chevy & GMC models then I had with Ford or Toyota models. (1 Ram model never again no matter what on Ram) For one thing I don’t have to change brake pads every year in GM trucks like all other brands I have driven.
All I am saying is that I would consider another F-150 if they changed the style since I buy new truck every 3 to 4 years I would like it to look different then a previous model so I feel like the massive increase in price is getting me an new truck.
Not real truck users
They call that tailgate competition to the Multiflex in GM models? The “multiple” positions I saw in a video was literally only about how wide you want to open it. Did I miss something? So they have a center swing out door…woopty doo.
Hmm, I thought the 150 was always a Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra rival. Learn something new on here every day.
Some people are so negative
The swoop is more than their design, it’s useful and I like the looks myself.
Chevy trucks look nice on the outside, in the right trim they’re the best looking on the market. Interior is good enough, but not as nice as Ford. It’s everything else Chevy is behind in
I will tell you my last two Chevy trucks rode pretty rough and my standard suspension 22 XLT is like a cloud in comparison. They ride so much nicer.
Funny it used to be the Chevy’s that rode nice and had extra power. Not anymore.
Gonna agree on the exterior, disagree on the interior. That smallish center screen surrounded by plastic bezels and air vents with no driver-centric angle looked outdated when it came out, as did Chevy’s when they had that “disappointing” 2019-21 interior. With the new interior, I think at least aesthetically Chevrolet is ahead on that too. Can’t speak to material quality on the refresh F150 obviously but I will say I’ve sat in every 2022+ Silverado trim level and the materials are solid across the board. Nothing that jumps out, but also nothing that says “cheap,” which is honestly what I’m looking for in a truck. I don’t want to be paying for a Rolls Royce interior in anything.
How does it handle loaded??? Common joke on ford internet forums is if you need to haul, buy a ranger. Both Ram and Ford chasing those lux boxes sales have made their rear springs insanely soft. Only chevy and Nissan are putting real springs on their trucks these days, and Nissan is leaving that market shortly. Having a GMC Denali would help. A truck with a short bed loaded down with leather and moon roof, and equiped with active damper shocks does help.
