General Motors unveiled the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ last month, pulling the sheets on an all-electric iteration of the iconic luxury SUV in a special event in New York. In addition to the new battery-driven powertrain, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ also presents a new design, which is available with an optional black roof. The question is – does the black roof look good, or not so much?
For those readers who may be unaware, the black roof for the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ is available as an extra-charge option, although exact pricing information is currently unavailable. However, for the sake of reference, the all-electric 2024 Cadillac Lyriq crossover is also offered with a black roof, which is priced at $600.
The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ presents markedly different styling than the ICE-powered Cadillac Escalade with which it shares its name. The front end presents Caddyās latest EV-themed styling cues, with a glossy black material inset and detailed lighting bits, plus a monochromatic Cadillac badge. Large vertical lighting elements are seen on either side of the grille, while lower in the fascia, the bumper section is finished in black.
The black lower body bits extend around into the sides of the vehicle, while the wheel designs incorporate a black finish as well. Viewed from the side, the black roof is much more obvious, especially when compared side-by-side with the standard body-colored roof.
The black roof also extends to the roof spoiler attached to the top of the rear hatch, while a small red brake light is stretched across the center of the spoiler. The brake lights once again show a vertical arrangement thatās broken up by a horizontal body section across the hatch and fenders.
So then – does the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ styling work better with a black roof? I think it would look great too but maybe a separate option as an add-on to the black roof.
Pink body, black roof – May actually appeal to the pimp community. Yuck!
Not for here in Florida, would just make the interior hotter.

As an option only
If you’re paying well over 100k for this Vehicle, a Blacked Out C-Pillar is what should become optional, hopefully that would be an available option for the 2026 Model Year, the Black Roof can be a seperate Customized Package Option through Online orders only.
